Anyone know if Beatrice's wedding has been postponed? Eugenie's engagement was announced on January 22nd and less than 10 days later on February 2nd - the wedding date was confirmed for October that year. Harry's engagement was announced on November 27th and his wedding date was announced on December 15th. Again a super short pattern of around 10 days. William's engagement was announced on November 16th and the wedding date was announced on November 23rd. Beatrice's engagement was announced on September 26. Still no wedding date 3 months later. |
There are new pictures of her out with her fiance last night in London. They don't look particularly cozy but they don't look broken up either. |
Is he short or is Beatrice tall? |
Neither? She's wearing 6-inch heels. |
I feel like he’s going to dip. He gives me scammer vibes. And Beatrice is not as pretty as her sister and seems insecure (staying with that other dude forever) which makes her an easy mark. |
He certainly has less incentive to stick around now. He'll have to pay child support to Dara Huang either way. Beatrice was/is dependent on her dad for financing but Andrew's income just got cut in half and there's no way he'll be able to force her into a palace apartment like Eugenie now (and she only got a 2-bedroom cottage). Can you imagine spending your married life living with crazy Andrew and Fergie? Anyway, I have to wonder because Edoardo has to know he'll have to be the main financial support for a princess who is constantly globe hopping and has no job. He's not that flush and neither of the sisters are that pretty to begin with. Add on her father's problems...I can see this not happening. |
Eugenie's Ivy Cottage with her husband Jack is being rented to them for 15,000 pounds a month. That's a pretty cheap sum for that part of London but Andrew is in for a world of financial difficulties with lawyers and his reduced role as a royal and scrutiny on his 'outside' business deals. Not sure how long he'll keep paying it. That is being rented to them at a 'commercial rate', which is said to be around £182,000 a year. It has always been assumed that Prince Andrew covers this cost. At weekends, Beatrice and Eugenie go home to the 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor, leased at a peppercorn sum to Andrew, where their divorced parents live together. |
| I feel bad I always bad mouthed Charles. Turns out he's the nice one. |

A few things
Eugenie is far more beautiful than her poor sister who looks almost exactly like Queen Victoria (and her own dad, Andrew). Andrew's cut salary will have zero impact on his ability to support and spend. He gets $$$$$ from his mother's private income from the Duchy estate. |
The Queen 'only' gets 21 million pounds a year from the Duchy estate. That 21 million is used to fund any private arrangements or non-state official projects of all her children and grandchildren plus her extended hanger-on relatives except Prince Charles and his wife + kids. As well as anything she is doing 'privately' like her horse-racing habit. So 21 million is 1.75 million a month for Andrew and Sarah, Edward and Sophie, Anne and Tim plus Zara, Peter, Beatrice, Eugenie, Louise, and James and all the great-grands. Plus the Queen pays for the apartments for at least 3 sets of relatives like Prince and Princess Michael of Kent whose Kensington Palace suite costs 10,000 pounds a month. The Queen is paying the rent for Prince and Princess Michael of Kent's apartment at a commercial rate of £122,000 (over $152,000) annually, from her own private funds. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/theroyalfamily/3146789/Prince-and-Princess-Michael-of-Kent-to-pay-120000-rent-for-Kensington-Palace-flat.html Now looking at all that, even if she gave Andrew 10% of the 1.75 million from here on out that's only 175,000 pounds a month to pay for his private staff salaries (let's go low and say his private secretary, butler, gardener, driver, housekeeper etc will only cost him 25,000 pounds a month), Eugenie and Beatrice are another 30,000 pounds a month in rent, private planes are another 7,500 pounds a month. Basically that money is gone fast and there's no way the Queen will give Andrew nor can she afford to give Andrew 10% of her discretionary budget. The Privy Purse money comes from the reigning sovereign’s Duchy of Lancaster estate. Last year the Queen received £21.7m from it. https://twitter.com/RoyalReporter/status/1197656562724159491 |
| Why didn’t the rest of the Queen’s kids get their own streams of income? Charles has the very lucrative Duchy of Cornwall. |
Because only the heir and monarch are given a Duchy with a functioning income. All the other Duchies - and in Edward's case Earldoms - are empty titles with no assigned lands or incomes. In the past, the monarch's kids (like Victoria - she had 9) could make money through dubious means, the monarch would pay out of pocket for their expenses because all the state coffers was theirs to use, and they were quickly married off to rich royals in other countries. No more. |

Andrew not only has to pay his staffers' salaries out of his own pocket now (or the Queen's private funds), but also is going to be charged monthly rent for his Buckingham Palace offices which is easily another 10,000 pounds (per commercial lease space in that prime area).
He really drove himself right over a cliff. The source revealed that the Queen is expected to order Andrew and his staff to leave their offices at Buckingham Palace – or fork out huge sums to rent them privately. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7712753/Sidelined-Prince-Andrews-aide-car-crash-Newsnight-interview-shunted.html |
| No big wedding for Bea? |
I feel like Andrew wouldn’t have stepped down without Elizabeth agreeing to still do the wedding. But who knows. She should do some Italian thing sponsored by her fiancé’s Family. |
