S/O at what age do men “hit the wall”?

People underestimate how much fame and money make up for looks, even for women.

I know a woman who is 45 and dating a 25 year old. She looks like any other overweight, middle aged woman. But she has a big social media following and has money. So she’s been able to attract younger guys.

We’re going to see more of this in the future as women make more money and men continue to fall behind and need to seek out other ways to support themselves besides college and careers.

For example, I find Brad Pitt (60) and Eddie Vedder (59) more attractive than balding, overweight thirty-something men, but there is a ceiling, even for celebrities. I can't think of anyone older than Brad Pitt who I find attractive.

Women under 30 would not give the 60 year-old version of Brad Pitt a chance without the money and status. A lot of women under 30 would not give the 60 year-old version of Brad Pitt a chance WITH the money and status.

Brad Pitt in Fight Club (Age 35). This is probably "peak" Brad. That version of Brad gets any woman he wants with or without money.

Brad Pitt in Mr. and Mrs. Smith (Age 41). That version of Brad has no problem pulling any young hottie in a gym or at a bar. Though some under 27 or so might be a bit squeamish once they learn his age.

Brad Pitt in Ocean's 13 (Age 43). Still hot.

Brad Pitt in Moneyball (Age 38) is only appealing to a small minority of younger women who don't mind an older man. And then he needs money to compensate for what he has lost physically.

I agree - the peak Brad Pitt was Fight Club, but he was also great in River Runs through it at 30. I think he's still appealing, but I'm also older. My kids think he's ancient.

I think Brad Pitt was in peak form at 31 when he filmed that 1994 movie where he fights the bear. Johnny Depp was the hottest man to ever walk the earth. He was peak hotness in his late 20s when he filmed Gilbert grape but definitely still looked good at 40 in secret window but started to decline after that.

It’s really sad Brad Pitt what Brad has done to his face. Seems like plastic surgery works much better women than men who just end up looking like Vegas performers.

Most men are born at the wall. Very few men experience a bounty of sexual interest in their youth followed by a slow decline of interest and offers in their 30s and 40s. The vast majority of men go from either (a) no dates in their 20s to no dates in their 30s, 40s and 50s or (b) no dates in their 20s to some dates in their 30s, 40s and 50s due to the women their age having less options themselves than they did in their prime years.

The only men who hit the proverbial wall are the Top 1-2% genetically blessed pretty boys who have not had much career success and only had their looks to rely on to attract women.

If a 5/10 or 6/10 man plays his cards right and earns a good salary in a high status career at age 37, he can get a former 8/10 woman at age 34 (now a 7/10 woman) who has spent the last 16 years dating men who are more attractive, more charismatic, wealthier, higher status than he is.

I have always been confused by the 10-scale.

I think this scale is ridiculous because beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
