Jenna Bush Hager
@JennaBushHager I taught in West Baltimore. I adore my kids, their parents, and grandparents. They all want the same thing I want for my kids: the chance for their children to have safe, happy and productive lives. Let’s think about the language we use, who it hurts. 11:19 AM · Jul 27, 2019 https://twitter.com/JennaBushHager/status/1155135565332963329 |

#BeBest
Except when you're Donald John Trump. Then it's okay to #BeWorst |
Nope, if one is still in the GOP, this is who they are. |

Alec MacGillis
@AlecMacGillis Replying to @AlecMacGillis and @realDonaldTrump Oh, and get this, folks: you know which "human beings" do live in Cummings' district? Several thousand people in the apartment complexes owned by one Jared Kushner, who fails to maintain the units and takes tenants to court to squeeze more $$ out of them. 11:05 AM · Jul 27, 2019 https://twitter.com/AlecMacGillis/status/1155132085046300672 https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/23/magazine/jared-kushners-other-real-estate-empire.html "Baltimore-area renters complain about a property owner they say is neglectful and litigious. Few know their landlord is the president’s son-in-law." |
Leaders don't have influence with their peers? Everyone knows Leader Pelosi's dad was powerful in Baltimore. And the claim that Chairman Cummings didn't know about his Baltimore constituents increasing problems, for decades, is hard to believe since they have been widely reported. For example: see today's WaPo metro section B4 for more information. |
Trump and his followers do think about the language they use and who it hurts. It hurts exactly the people they want |
You realize people like Jim Jordan "oversee" a congressional district with more crime and less median income and employment, right? |

This twitter thread is epic.
https://twitter.com/AlecMacGillis/status/1155156064871993346 Alec MacGillis @AlecMacGillis Replying to @AlecMacGillis and @realDonaldTrump Trump calls Cummings' district a "disgusting rat and rodent infested mess." Maybe he's referring to this Kushner-owned rental unit: "Marquita Parmely, a truck driver, told me she had a mouse infestation severe enough that her 12-year-old daughter recently found one in her bed..." 12:40 PM · Jul 27, 2019 "...Parmely also has a 2-year-old with asthma, which is aggravated by allergens in mice droppings. She moved her own bed & other furniture away from the walls to dissuade mice, kept the family’s laundry in tote bags after mice started appearing in the hamper & vacuumed 2X a day." Or maybe Trump is referring to the maggots at this Kushner unit: "The bedroom ceiling started leaking one day. Then maggots started coming out of the living-room carpet. Then raw sewage started flowing out of the kitchen sink. 'It sounded like someone turned a pool upside down.'" "'I heard the water hitting the floor and I panicked. I got out of bed and the sink is black and gray, it’s pooling out of the sink and the house smells terrible.' Cox stopped cooking for herself and her son, not wanting food near the sink." "When she moved out soon afterward, Westminster Management [Kushner's property management company] sent her a $600 invoice for a new carpet and other repairs." Again, it's all here: https://www.nytimes.com2017/05/23/magazine/jared-kushners-other-real-estate-empire.html 12:49 PM · Jul 27, 2019 |
That's probably it. Freddie Gray died in April of 2015. It appears that one tragedy had a profound impact on the city. |
| The complacency of this forum in the status quo for some is disturbing. Thank God for those who seek to remedy the injustices. |
| lol everyone in this area thinks the same thing about EOTR. Especially white liberals bunch of hypocrites |
How about slumlords like Jared Kushner. Surely he knows about the terrible conditions in the properties his company manages. It's hard to believe he doesn't know about such things as reported in this story from 2 years ago. Or do you think he's like his father-in-law and doesn't read? https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/23/magazine/jared-kushners-other-real-estate-empire.html |
Like the NY Times with its excellent reporting on Jared Kushner, Baltimore slumlord: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/23/magazine/jared-kushners-other-real-estate-empire.html |
Well, damn. I learned it from watching you! |
Maryland is one gerrymandered state. You want to take that up as an issue, take a look at Wisconsin, Ohio, North Carolina, Georgia etc. Yes, let's get every state to have an impartial commission and have guidelines that make every congressional district make sense. |
