That's very scary. It's good that your daughter is using better judgement than her roommates are but what if one of them brings one of these sugar daddys home or has one of these guys show up on their doorstep? That could put your daughter in danger even though she is not directly involved in any of these arrangements.

She needs better friends.

thank you. I am very proud at her desire to be more discerning about her dating life, but you do make a good point and needing better friends/roommates. And also about being careful about someone showing up at her doorstep. Because of all that has happened, she's wanting to purchase mace which thankfully is legal mostly everywhere.

New poster. PP with the daughter in college: I'm asking sincerely, no snark: Does your DD live off campus? Or maybe the sugar baby girls are in "safe" on-campus dorms but go to their SDs rather than vice versa--? Be got a kid starting college this fall and this whole idea is sickening.

I wish I’d done that years ago. I am an ES teacher with massive student loan debt. I’m 35 & kinda dumpy now, but wish I’d been smart enough to do this 10 years ago.

On the plus side, you weren’t murdered by a SD like Mackenzie was.
This thread blows my mind. I had no idea so many people thought this was an acceptable way to make money. I’m not casting moral judgement— just looking at it from a safety perspective.

Actually mostly vanilla from what I hear. Kinky people actually have little trouble finding each other unless they live in small towns or extremely insular religious communities. Sugar daddies are mainly socially awkward men (not just old) with lots of money. Often they are afraid of marrying or a long term relationship that could lead to palimony. They’d rather pay upfront and feel like they are controlling the transactional nature of sex.

Well, then they are also breathtakingly stupid men because there is absolutely nothing preventing these sugar babies from getting pregnant if that is what they want to do.

Come on. These men are almost certainly videotaping all of these encounters at best and they are likely swapping the videos with their fellow porn bros. They have probably had vasectomies so that is why they aren't worried about getting the girls pregnant.

Most SB are girls/women who think they’re smart enough to do this secretly and not be on the streets providing sex. They don’t WANT to get pregnant because it blows their cover and would lead to a lot of uncomfortable questions from family and their judgemental communities if they show back up with a bun baking.

Yep. These are girls working their way through college and grad school. Or they have one kid already and know that child support doesn’t cut it.

PP, what is your obsession with porn? Most men view it. Most men aren’t filming their real-life sexual encounters. Most men aten’t Killing women they have sex with.

eh, they're in it for the easy money. If they could get some rich guy to knock them up all the better. Don't elevate what they're doing or how they think.

What they probably don't realize is that their sugar daddy is exploiting the heck out of them w/o their knowledge and images of them having sex are being viewed by a bunch of their porn buddies.

I don’t believe your story but assuming it’s true, you are naive if you think your daughter is not doing the same thing.

I have zero obsession with porn but guys like this are paying for sex for a reason. And, yes, plenty of them absolutely do film their encounters.

Not that PP, but my son lived in a dorm on campus last year and had a very positive experience. There is a lot to do on college campuses and the kids are studying a lot. I do not think that it is normal at all for students to sell themselves like that.

You're saying you wish you'd been smart enough to be a prostitute? This is so mind boggling and stupid I can't even believe you're real. By the way, can be a hooker today, even at age 35. Go for it!

From a safety perspective - it’s stupid.

From a morality perspective - I see this as no different from women who make it their life’s mission to marry a ‘Provider’ and never work a day in their lives.

There is no comparison between a married woman and a paid prostitute. A married couple chooses to openly commit themselves to one another and form a legal union. The prostitute/john arrangement is an illegal business transaction in most states.

It’s a couple of trolls who keep posting. Don’t be fooled.

Thank God that man is locked up and no longer on the streets. He was obviously planning to do terrible things to women based on the conversation he had with the contractor. He asked if the contractor could make the basement into a secret room with a hidden door, hooks on the wall.....the contractor got the creeps and refused the job.

He apparently was posing online as a sugar daddy looking for a sugar baby. That's how Mackenzie wound up in the hands of this maniac, she took the bait.

NP here. My DD who just graduated from college told me about girls who were from good UMC families, great students who were hooking for money. One of them got admitted to medical school right after graduating and has excellent GPA. She will not have any student debt for sure. And this girl if not White. She is from a conservative Indian-American family.

A huge red flag is raised if a college girl if using Tinder. You are young and surrounded by single men and women in a college setting. You do not need a Tinder to hook up because there is no dearth of available sexual partners. Most girls are using it to be prostitutes/sb/ap/mistress and they are going with older men who are not students.

There. I have said it.

She was a sex worker. She may not have had compelling reasons (poverty, sex-slavery, kidnapped) to do it, but that was what she was.

It is a horrifying death for any person. It is terrible for the family to know that their loved one died in this way. It is terrible for the family to know that their child was a sex worker. Still, she was the victim of a serial killer who has probably done this before and would have continued to kill if he was not apprehended.

I think we need to concentrate on the fact that she was the victim of a depraved, sadistic, sexual-deviant serial killer. We should not be victim shaming here. Very sad for this yoing woman and her family. She was someone's child and family member. Lets not forget this.
