I don’t know. She is amazing. She is definitely in a unique situation and has also played with boys. She is small but mighty. I think she will go far. Is 2006 full? I was the curious one whose kid has a spot elsewhere but we are curious. Easy commute also. Thanks to the Internet world. We would never have had this amount of information. I was there last night and was impressed with the quality of coaching and players.

The 07 is certainly a talented girl but there were others out there as well with great foot skills and speed of play. It was fun to watch. Some good talent came from outside as well. Not bad for a rainy Mother's Day.

Coaches appear to be utilizing select members of current teams to assess new talent each day versus a big cattle call for tryouts that you see at the bigger clubs. You are not going to be able to see how your DD stacks up vs the whole pool trying out because you do not have to attend each session. But you will see how they do versus existing DA players.

How can there be a huge cattle call when we are talking about GRF as the club supplying the players. Washington Spirit as a pro club was not able to field competitive teams so they cut bait and ran. US Soccer thinks that GFR who has never produced a quality team is a great addition to the landscape of Mclean, FCV, VDA, Loudoun, BRYC, Arlington. Having a roster of 96 players between those clubs at each age group if they all had 16 players which we know is not the case. There are not 96 DA/ECNL caliber players at 06 or 07 in this area much less add another 16 to the with this Metro United. We as parents are supposed to think this is a great idea. If they truly cared about the players and the development like they all say then how is adding one more to the mix from a club that is barely above rec accomplishing that other than further diluting the player pool. The 06 team has lost every game and has only scored 5 goals in almost a year. They were beaten by Arlington and FCV by the score line of 51 goals to 1 in the 6 games of 2018/19. There are enough DA/ECNL teams out there. US Soccer needs to make smart decisions and think of the players, instead of figuring out ways to pay more coaches and have parents believe this is great for youth soccer. I am so grateful my DD moves on to college next year.

Good for you to take all that on. That is far too much for me to worry about. I am more focused on simply finding the best club that my DD can play at that will challenge her, make her the best soccer player she can be, and have fun, for the right price and location for our family.

I read the entire post, however I would believe that GFR, moving forward would have guidance from the DA side, in order to better develop players. This obviously wouldn't occur over night, but having non DA partnerships would benefit development and growth, of the both the none DA players and create a pipeline for that talent to move up.

Yeah, I'm not saying GFR can't become a better club that produces some EdA quality players. I'm pushing back against the statement that GFR currently supplies the MU players (or Spirit players).

They don't. No one made that statement. There are a select few GFR players who could play on those teams though. It's true of many of the elite options in the area too. Some come from the club and many come from outside.

You would pay $1200 and train with both GFR and United. How much training with Metro would depend on the player and each team. Talk with the metro coaches to get a answer especially regarding the prices. Only rostered DA players pay the $3600
