It's now easier to perform an abortion in the state of New York than to legally apply a tattoo.

NY used to allow for it when the mother's life was at risk. Now it is simply when her health is endangered.

I wonder how often a woman's mental health will be what is said to be endangered going forward. My mental health is endangered when my kids leave their crap all over the house or an asshole cuts me off in traffic.

People like you are fomenting a problem where it doesn't exist.

Women don't get late-term abortions willy-nilly. They are heartbreaking events for the women who seek them out for very painful reasons, and FU for making light of them.

Most women don’t. Don’t tell me you know what happens in every situation because you don’t.

Why do you think a woman should be forced to go to 40 weeks with a non-viable fetus? Why do you think a woman whose health is endangered by her pregnancy should be forced to go through it until she delivers, if it might kill her?

Why do you think it's only non-viable babies that would be aborted in a late term abortion? Why are you suggesting late term abortion is only an option if it might kill her? That was the prior law. The current law says it only has to be endangering her health, including her mental health.

The vast majority of women want their babies.

99% of those women who donhave abortions have them early. (See article cited previously aboutvwimen who look for late term abortions. )

Women who have late term abortions do so because of serious health conditions, severely ill fetuses, or they are carrying dead babies.

If you had ever known anyone, like I have, who had to carry and deliver a known dead baby, you wouldn't be so upset about this ruling.

Check the stats in a few years and see how few late term abortions there are and who chooses to get them.

And because the hysterical "pro life" people have made them illegal in so many states, many of these ill women have to travel. Concentrate on your own states, and leave states who want to provide medical care to women alone.

Um, what percentage of pregnancies are terminated because the fetus caused sepsis?

I never even heard of a fetus causing sepsis. How does that happen?

Answer my question and then I’ll answer yours.

Or are you afraid to answer mine?

Perhaps as abortions increase, so will the rate of infertility... especially if the abortion doctor didn't exactly do a great job.

“no significantly increased risk of adverse reproductive health has been observed following induced abortion.”

See pp, it even happens to conservatives! Sigh.

https://www.sepsis.org/sepsis-and/pregnancy-and-childbirth/
"Between
2011 and 2013 infection or sepsis caused 12.7% of pregnancy-related deaths in the United States. Pregnancy-associated sepsis requires early detection, accurate diagnosis, and aggressive treatment. In fact, a new study published in October 2013 reported that “Sepsis is currently the leading cause of direct maternal death in the United Kingdom.”

Because beyond being a mom, I am a person, and my own health and life has innate value.

This is part of why NY is a maker state, not a failed red state, by the by: equality for adults leads to better outcomes for all families and children over longer terms.

1) more people are fleeing NY than moving in.

2) being aborted is not a "better outcome" if you happen to be the one getting aborted.

Note that the PP said her own health and life has innate value.

Exactly. Malignant narcissism.

F-ck you both. Women matter, and have innate and intrinsic value beyond serving as fetal incubators. And unlike you two, I’ve actually given birth, and haven’t had to have an abortion.

NP

For a woman to suggest that her own life does, indeed, have some innate value on its own -- this is malignant narcissism?

She didn't say "some," and she didn't mention the importance of her children's or a growing baby's innate health and life.

So what? You’re deeply illogical. If something isn’t couched to fit your delicate sensibilities, you distort and deflect from objective reality.
