OP, I think you luckily stumbled on to the very early stages of an affair. Your DH made his feelings known to this woman and before anything happened, you saw the text and called him out on it. you do need to talk to him more about it and like the other pps said, stay calm, but explain to him that giving money to someone doesn't solicit a response like the one she gave. That it's clear from the text that he expressed feelings about her and she's happy about those feelings. He needs to come clean to you. Maybe you both can go to counseling where it's a safe place for him to share that he did indeed have some feelings for her, and you and he could work those things out.

I mean, it's human to be attracted to others that aren't your spouse. The problem is when you start acting on those attractions.
