People have different tastes in beauty but you may want to consider that you have a Western dominated idea of beauty. A lot of the things mentioned in this thread (strong features, larger nose) are just part of being from a different race/ethnicity than the typical cover model.

Please stop with the race thing. I’m Arab (Palestinian) and I perceive no racial bias in any of the criticism of Amaal. I think she’s brilliant and beautiful but my standards of beauty aren’t the same as everyone else’s. And please don’t hijack this thread with Meghan - you already have at least two MM threads going - salivate over her there.

No. Meghan has a gorgeous face. Amal does not.
This has nothing to do with racism. Some of us honestly don't find her face to be at all attractive. There are no deeper issues.

We're allowed to find her unattractive! It doesn't mean we're racists or bad people or anti-women. This idea that we all must share the exact same standard of beauty is just beyond annoying and offensive.

It’s pretty arrogant to assume people from other cultures get plastic surgery to look more Western. Believe it or not, not everybody wants to be Caucasian.

People accuse Koreans of trying to look more Caucasian, when they’re actually trying to reach a Korean beauty standard that has nothing to do with western beauty standards. Many cultures have prized smaller noses long before they had any western influence.

Are you refuting the effects of colonialism on what signifies beauty? People who were colonized by caucasians do believe that they need to look more Caucasian to be beautiful. That is why in places like South Asia women use lightening creams to look whiter and small features are preferred rather than things like big noses.

^ Lightening the skin is not about looking white. It's about looking like you don't have to do labor outside. Look at the white face powders of colonial America, Victorian England, etc
