Have you ever known or been a high school girl? Here's a little secret: a story like this would have been shared contemporaneously. NOT saved for years. Had she been raped, she might not have shared, but this is the kind of story a girl would share. Hiding in the bathroom, etc.

She doesn't remember what year it was?
She doesn't remember how she left the house?

If it had happened and was that traumatic, she would have remembered.

Yes, I have. And because of that, I believe her. I also believe the 65 women who signed the letter stating they think he is a saint. Both things can be true and she is likely telling the truth. This kind of stuff routinely happened to me and my friends. We didn’t talk about it until recently with the metoo stuff. He needs to step down. We cannot have another assaulter on the Supreme Ct. Not in 2018.

I absolutely agree. I am sure this Brett K would never assault a woman now. He has grown and matured, like most men who do stupid things in their youth (unlike the Weinsteins of this world). However, in the light of other things he has said, his writings, etc, it shows that he is someone that did grow up with a particular respect for women. So when it comes to decisions on birth control and abortion, I am very concerned he might not respect women either.

Grassley’s spokesman is saying the committee was not aware of the accusations.

If that is the case, then how did he get 65 women to sign a letter in one night?

He didn’t, he had the letter already, which means the committee GOP knew and did nothing.

And the GOP point fingers at democrats tactics. Fact is, the victim didn't want to come forward; Feinstein's hands were tied. But the GOP knew about it and were prepared.

He should be jailed. He should have to give up custody of his daughters too. If his wife defends him the kids need to go into foster care.

If a Republican woman is in denial about her place in society in the minds of Republican men, now might be a good time for her to wake up. Statistically speaking, they were and are just as likely to have been sexually assaulted, although I think they seem more likely to have fully internalized the blame and to have submerged the experience.

No matter how well women behave, to GOP men, women aren’t fully human. They’re objects.

I agree with you, but I don't think GOP men are the only ones who think this way. I know plenty of male liberal Democrats who treat women like objects. They vote differently, but their disrespect for women is nearly identical, especially when drunk.

Or maybe men can stop harassing and raping women.

Not every male has a #metoo past. In fact, I would bet there is a pro-life judge out there somewhere who has more honor in his pinky nail than Kavanuagh. If that is the goal, find him and nominate him. We shoudn't be further eroding our instititution and especially the Supreme Court, any further.

Nice try, Boris, but no.

This sort of behavior was so commonplace that I bet he didn't think anything of it. He will say she was flirting with him and they were just horsing around. That's if he even remembers it. He and his buddy sound like heavy drinkers who might have blacked out.

If he has an ounce of honor, he will remove himself from consideration and spare his family and this woman from any further investigation.

He has already denied it ever happened. If he now backtracks to say they were just horsing around, it further erodes what little credibility he has. He used his daughters as props, he has lied about many issues before the Senate.

Surely our country can do better.

We did. The GOP is the one that sucks. If Trump withdraws this douchecanoe and nominates, oh, Merrick Garland, he’ll have a normal confirmation in his hands. Easy win, Donnie!

Some women deserve no respect. I say this as a woman.

So they get what they deserve? No biggie to be raped or assaulted?

She’s not a liar, she’s an opportunist.

She wasn’t promiscuous, she was stupid for not having Kavanaugh charged at the time

She’s not mentally, she’s culpable for not taking a sexual predator out of society years ago.

She didn’t report it earlier, because it was an incident that routinely occurred to her and most other attractive women.

She only came forward because someone dredged her up.

Classic ploy

She’s just the sucker who fell for the bait.

In context of 1982-1983, this wouldn't really be possible. But you know that.

You mean there were no laws against sexual assault in 1982-1883?

Two things can be true at the same time. This incident could have happened as described, AND those 65 women could have had respectful interactions with Kavanaugh.

STFU

If the MD DA determines the victim is credible, Kavanaugh should be charged and tried.
