Mclean is not walkable.

If you require walk ability and friendly neighbors consider falls church something similar to this house.

You will be 1 mile from McLean metro and the scotts run/capital one (wegmans)development.

Pimmit Hills? No thanks.

If you’re near the center of McLean, it’s got some walkability, the schools are better, and the housing is nicer.

OP pimmit Hills it rated as one of the hottest neighborhoods by Washingtonpost. However check out the reaction of PP above. McLean is filled with people like her not a good fit for you.

Hard pass on Pimmit Hills unless you like 900 SF houses that look like they haven’t had a fresh coat of paint for decades next to generic 4000 SF McMansions.

I always thought DCUM posters were overly harsh about Pimmit Hills, until my daughter's softball team started practicing at Olney Park. OMG. I live in a small brick house in Arlington, but I'm surrounded by other somewhat small and blah brick houses. This "development" is a disaster of exactly what the PP said. Plus houses with cars on blocks interspersed as well.

How about Vienna? There’s more of a downtown area. It’s more laid back than McLean. Not as many snooty types.

Vienna is about as uniformly white as it gets in NoVa. Both McLean and Falls Church have more immigrants, for sure. And the commute from Vienna to DC, if that's a consideration, is no fun.

I have Asian friends in Vienna. I also know some mixed race couples in McLean. Definitely far fewer than in Bethesda/Chevy Chase, but they're around. Turn Virginia blue!

Agree about the commute, but I am an immigrant in Vienna and I think it depends on the school cluster.

Your daughter plays softball and you're the one complaining about generic McMansions? Lol.

Go practice somewhere else - elitist snob. Go back to Arlington.

This is true Mclean is about to vote in its first Dem congresswoman in 40 years. There are many educated, liberal minded people in Mclean. Y'all come.

We're a mixed race immigrant family with two kids, have been living EOTP in the District but now it's time to move for middle school. All the people we know who live outside DC live in Takoma Park, Silver Spring, Kensington, a few in the Rockville area. Every time I do kid activities in MoCo I run into friends. It's definitely more our vibe BUT the commute sucks from there and would be way better for us from NoVa. Inner Arlington seems expensive for the space and the schools don't seem as good as Fairfax. So we're thinking-gasp-McLean or Falls Church, the more walkable parts (I know those are pretty few and far between). I have heard some neighborhoods are friendly but I'm afraid that everyone will be a moneyed Republican lobbyist and I won't fit in. I know I probably have inaccurate stereotypes, but are there down to earth, crunchy, immigrant, mixed race, LGBTQ families out there?

TIA.. I tried to ask my real estate agent these questions and couldn't really get answers. I think she thinks I'm crazy.

This is us. We have had no problems socially.

Part of McLean already has a democratic Congress Critter- Don Beyer.

Comstock is pretty much the only remaining Republican at the county, state or federal level representing any part of McLean, and her days are hopefully numbered.

Immigrants are not necessarily liberals especially in McLean area. We're first gen immigrants and we together with many of our friends are firmly against liberals and democrats.

Your immigrant ass would still be in the old country if not for the liberals/democrats you now seem to despise. Think about that next time. BTW, im a life long moderate conservstive.
