It's in one of the original 13 colonies. Not Midwest.

Western PA is definitely part of the Midwest (aka Pensatucky)

NP. It’s not.

Pennsyltucky, not Pensatucky, is central PA, not western PA. And it’s more like Appalachia than the Midwest.
Fail.

For the original question, I think it’s Northwestern.

That word is a combination of Pennsylvania and Kentucky. And last time I checked KY isn’t the Midwest.

Pensatucky is the area that stretches from Western Pa through Oh to Kentucky. Basically opiod ground zero and Trump country. Having sprung from this area, I do my best to keep my redneck ways to myself.

What do most people in DC consider the most prestigious college in the Midwest?

Exactly, PP! My family, from the Midwest and all college graduates, all think that the lead is Notre Dame, followed by Creighton. State schools like Nebraska and Michigan are in the mix for top 10 as well as Rice. U of Chicago isn't even in the top 50 or 100.

Winner of the dumb post of the day. Creighton? Rice (which is in Houston)? Chicago not in the top 100 in the Midwest? Quite sure your family of college grads would rather you stop speaking for them.

Have you ever been to the Midwest, PP? No one (well I am sure there is someone, but not most) aspires to go to University of Chicago; that would be like someone in the DMV preferring NOVA CC to Harvard.

DP. You are insane. It is by far the #1 school in the Midwest and everyone knows it. It is just where fun goes to die, so if you are not up for a very rigorous experience, go to Penn State or whatever.

I agree with the PP. I grew up in the Midwest and have a lot of relatives there still. They are all college educated or current students and none of them have even heard of University of Chicago. Yes it's prestigious. Yes it's selective. But, it's not on the radar of a lot of people living in the Midwest.

Northwestern by a mile.

State flagships play a MUCH larger role in the Midwest than they do the east coast.

Yes they do. However, those are not the top schools in the Midwest.

Carleton??

Pennsylvania is NOT the midwest.
