They're women, the most entitled creatures on the planet. |
That's BS. You are responding to a woman. And the number of women on DCUM who think they are entitled to high-earning husbands is at least equal to the number of men who seem to think that they are entitled to sex on demand. So let's not get into a debate about who is most entitled, Mr. MRA. |
In my experience, the best women to be in a relationship with are into sex on demand. PP, not every women on Earth was raised in a Puritanical culture. |
Well, then, enjoy your mail order bride from Eastern Europe. I'm sure she really loves you.
|
And in many women's experiences, the best men to be married to are high earners. PP, not every man still lives in his mommy's basement. |
As a person of East European heritage married to a smart, beautiful woman of East European heritage I’m offended by your bigoted comment. |
| I want my husband to earn about as much as I do. I don't think this is unreasonable. |
Okay, I'll add in the mail order brides from Asia. Better now? https://yourbride.com |
If you make $200K, how many candidates are there, and how many other women also want to meet those guys? How many of those other women are prettier than you are? |
What? Only a shallow person would assume that pretty is the most important thing in a life partner. I am completely average-looking, and yet our HHI is 7 figures. Guess my DH was looking for qualities beyond "pretty." Just as I didn't concern myself with how good-looking he was, given that our goal is to be old and wrinkled together. Beauty fades, and smart people know that that is no basis for a marriage. |
This is a point. It is ok for a man to make more than a woman in relationships, but not the other way around. That means that the only way society works is if most women earn less than most men. For equality, it just should not matter. I am male. I make 185K. I am ok with a woman that makes more than me (I would welcome it....more money is better than less money, but more time is better than less time, it is a tradeoff). I am ok if the woman make less than me. SAH is problematic because, at 185K, it is kind of hard to support a family. |
How. Many. Other. Women. Is a woman competing with for a man who makes significantly above median income? |
It's.Not.A.Competition. If you think finding a spouse is a competition, you have serious issues. |
Of course it’s a competition. The highly paid woman in another thread is complaining about competing unsuccessfully with her friend the lowly paid nanny. Female friends complain about being ignored by men they’re interested in. They’re competing with hotter, friendlier, more available women for those men. Or they’re competing with lots of less-hot women for those few men. |
You have hit upon my problem. I make $250 and want approx the same from my partner. It doesn't have strict requirements such as below $200 or above $275 is a def. no but I am looking for about the same. It's nice to know that each person brings a similar financial picture to the table. I'm very lucky in that I have a very flex. job in tech. That does mean some crazy nights once in a while but for the most part at the end of the work day, I'm done with work. I have no idea how many other women are prettier than me since beauty is in the eye of the beholder. |
