This is OP. I'm going for a lot of the reasons you describe. I also feel like the path forward for the country is in embracing non partisan events as times to come together.
But I hate that line about curing cancer. He's a terrible person who has done terrible things. If he cures cancer that is still true. Then he'll just be a terrible person who has done terrible things and one really good thing.
And likely will continue on being a mean narcissistic bully afterwards.
