Exactly! I think Trump is the worst president in US History, but there is no way he'll be there. So,no worries.

This is OP. This is kind of how I feel. And almost more than that I don't feel like Trump should be able to ruin traditions like this. The easter egg roll happened before, will happen now and will happen when he's impeached.

I don't want to feel compromised but I also feel like not going to something like this is the kind of dig-your-heels-in move that is causing none of us to be able to talk to each other anymore.

When he’s impeached? hahahaha LOL ok PP ??

The White House Easter egg hunt was listed and there was a video clip from last year’s event. Not a single person of color in the 2 minute clip.

The White House Easter Egg Roll is the Monday after Easter.
The Monday after Easter is also the time of a long standing tradition for African American families to go to the National Zoo.

While it wouldn't surprise me if fewer families of color attended the Easter Egg Roll last year, there's also a competing event that can affect demographics.

Oh, please. That’s a stretch! We went twice during Obama years and somehow Black people still managed to show up at the White House despite the Black family reunion at the zoo.

Anyway, I wouldn’t go. It’s kind of an insane event - lots of standing in line which makes for cranky kids. The souvenir eggs are cool, but yours would be signed by the Trumps, so...

LOL! If you actually watch the clip there are very few minorities period in it. Why do you think people are getting rid of their tickets? DH (fed) has had 5 separate people come up to him this week asking if he wanted tickets, they didn't want to go.

Trump will make an appearance, he'll look like and even bigger arse if he doesn't, but he won't be out long. Do you think he actually likes small children?

I crack up when people throw impeachment out there. Why would he be impeached??

Oh and if your “impeachment” fantasy involves President Trump leaving office, you might want to read up on Clinton’s impeachment.

We went last year and it was awful. Would not recommend. The “treats” they gave the kids was a boiled egg on a stick. Perplexing and disgusting.

Family of color here. We'd love those easter egg roll tickets! I never went to it despite living in dc my whole life.

You want your kid given a shit ton of candy so that they can be obese like the majority of the country?

Why don't you go and leave little paper notes for the traitor in chief?

You burying your head in the sand won't save him or yourself.

There, I fixed that for you.

This area is so jaded. 99% of the country, Democrat or Republican, would kill to be at the White House doing an Easter Egg roll regardless of who the president is at that point in time. I dont like Trump but it's over the top anymore with the constant vitriol. The guy could cure cancer and people would say it's not enough. I didnt like Obama either but if I had tickets to the egg roll my kids would have been there. What a cool experience regardless of who was president at the time. Also, I don't think people will really care in 25 years as much as they do now about Trump.

This is OP. I'm going for a lot of the reasons you describe. I also feel like the path forward for the country is in embracing non partisan events as times to come together.

But I hate that line about curing cancer. He's a terrible person who has done terrible things. If he cures cancer that is still true. Then he'll just be a terrible person who has done terrible things and one really good thing. And likely will continue on being a mean narcissistic bully afterwards.

Trump is different. No one batted an eye if you were a Dem and went to the Easter Egg Hunt when Bush was President. Now, it's almost like you might catch something. Gross.
