It's just that there have been so many topics on here about how to marry a rich guy and they all seem odd be missing the mark. These guys with actual money don't just hang around the club house looking to sex up and then marry Tina the personal trainer. That isn't how they operate. They are often loners and involved in their own activities. Also they also tend not to display their wealth in ways most people would pick up on. Why would they? They know they have money. It is often far more trouble than it isn't worth.

People who inherit wealth have free time. Captain of industry types have no free time. So there are different types there.

And finally, you are absolutely right about money and time. Wealthy people do not suffer from one of the major breakers of failed marriages, money troubles. That is huge. But, they know that.

Can you tell us more about this? what are the subtle signs?

I can give you some easy examples for generational wealth, but they aren't helpful unless you were born in to the club. And that's kind of the point. For example, two men might be talking and one says, "One time when I was in the Riley Room ..." He doesn't explain what that is. He just offers that piece of information. The other man can respond a number of ways. Asking what the Riley Room is or just politely nodding is one thing. Saying something like, "Oh, you went to Andover? My cousin went there. What year?" That is something else. Admittedly, this is a bit of a lame example, but it makes the point. Many people in these circles use cultural shibboleths that they have learned over a lifetime. It help them to more easily determine who is in the club and who isn't. I'm guessing you can see how this would not be helpful for an outsider looking in. Unless, of course, one wants to spend a few years studying the social habits of old money and attempting to "Tom Ripley" their way in.

I don't know where you are getting that? But now that you bring it up, it costs money to look attractive as a woman, moreso every year you get older.

+1 facials, massages, makeup, nails, hair, gym, clothes (& not even including plastic surgery)

The presumption is that rich men have nearly infinite choices. Poor men do not.

Gross? How old are you?

I fail to see what's wrong with either of them. They're not plastic, and I like that.

Whether a rich man has a hot wife often depends on whether he married before or after he became rich.

Very few women over the age of 40 are "hot."
A rich man can dump his older wife and marry a gold digger but it's usually a pretty unhappy arrangement, especially when his kids and grandkids aren't speaking to him and do not want to hang out with the marriage-busting striver.
If he's really rich the first wife maintains her lifestyle and no longer has to put up with his BS.

HOT, is in the eye, and psyche, of the beholder.

That said, for me hot isn't just about her looks or age. Bill Gates' wife with the right kind of attitude and sexuality can transition from nice looking woman to HOT!
