US women's gymnastics...

There's something seriously wrong with Michigan State. And of course USA Gymnastics for keeping this secret for so many years.

The USA Gymnastics CEO Steve Penny resigned last March. USA Gymnastics gave him 1 Million Dollars for ignoring hundreds of reports of rape. That's an outrage.

The entire USA Gymnastics board should be questioned under oath to expose the evolution of this massive cover-up. They should be forced to pay the bills of the victims to treat their psychological and physical trauma.

Imagine being systematically raped by a man who had protected access to you whenever he wanted. He could make you do whatever he wanted and for as long as he wanted and as often as he wanted.

Michigan State University participated in the protection of this rapist for decades. So many of their coaches and administrators defended this criminal monster as he penetrated hundreds of girls, both vaginally and rectally.

May all his enablers rot in hell. Every one of them.

All those victims, and yet parents didn't come forward to stop it?

USA Gymnastics stipulated that parents were not allowed to visit their children at their training ranch. They also stipulated that parents were not allowed to travel with their children.

I hate the torture that they perpetrated on these innocent children.

Yes. Gymnastics is especially riddled with abuse and starvation. Your daughter will have better options.

This is ridiculous. If you prevented your child from doing anything that has had a “scandal” associated with it there would be nothing she could do. As a former elite gymnast the assumption all gymnasts are abused and starved is wrong and damaging to the sport itself. I started gymnastics when I was 3 and quit in college. In addition to being good for you physically, i learned so many other skills (time management) that are vital today.

You think USA Gymnastics acted appropriately???

That's disturbing, both that the ban was laid and that parents complied.

USA Gymnastics is the umbrella organization for Olympic hopefuls.

They should be dismantled, and a whole new organization should be assembled.

Where did you read that I thought they acted appropriately? No, what they did was horrible. However, the sport is more than USA gymnastics. I wouldn’t prevent my 2 year old from trying it out. The likelihood they ever make it to the competition level much less training with the national team is very small

Problem is that this scandal had been perpetrated and protected from the top down. For decades.

Question is:
What should happen to USA Gymnastics now,
and its board members?

BS rule and I can’t believe these parents were dumb enough to listen. I’m paying my money therefore I should be able to keep an eye on my child.

Good luck with that. You would swiftly find your child dismissed for a fake excuse. USA Gymnastics has zero independent oversight. This has simply got to change. Don't you agree?

USA Gymnastics has been scandal plagued for decades, and clearly they have never corrected the issues but instead continued to coverup even worse abuse. It should be banned from olympic participation and disbanded.
