Driving with an expired license is a big deal, right?

Yup. Can confirm.

Do NOT do this.

Tell your idiotic boss that:

A friend of my friend got SENT STRAIGHT TO JAIL when she was pulled over and the police officer noticed her license was expired. Her kids were in the car and everything. It was very traumatic.

I don't believe this happened but assuming it did, I'm sure that this person had a lot more going on, such as outstanding warrants, than just driving on an expired license.

There’s a big difference between your license being a few days expired and it being suspended for multiple DUI’s and outstanding arrest warrants.

yeah okay.

Option A -- spend $40 on Uber to get down to the DMV and renew your license and then get back to your car

Option B -- get stopped, have your car impounded, have to spend time and money getting it back, then spend time in court explaining to the judge that you were too busy to renew your license on time

If you pick option B then I'm at you because you are a fucking idiot.

Things like speeding (as long as it's not so far to qualify as reckless driving) or running a stop sign are just moving violations. Driving without a license is a criminal charge and you can be locked up right there. That's a significantly more serious crime.

Actually, go close to closing time. Once, you're in line, they have to see you. The lines move really fast as the workers want to get done and go home. This has been my strategy in four different states, and it's very effective!
