Pretty sure that the other Dems involved (and there were a lot who employed these guys) had long ago removed them from their payrolls. It is also odd that one family of IT specialists was hired by so many Dems and that they appeared to have been earning salaries above the norm.

If these were such good American citizens as to be employed on the Hill--why are they all taking off for Pakistan?

I'd be interested to know what level of security clearances they had.

Do you have any evidence to support your allegation that "they all" are taking off for Pakistan?

Maybe they just wanted to vacation in Pakistan?

That is non-responsive. We know of one person who was going to Pakistan. It is not at all unusual to leave DC at this time of the year and it is not at all unusual to travel to the country of your origin. But, again, that is one guy. Where is your evidence for "they all" are taking off? Or is "all" only one person?

So in other words, you don't.

Remember that is the bar we use these days - anything less is a "nothingburger"

Circumstantial evidence, guilt by association (even with a direct employee), meetings, etc are all elements of a "witch hunt".

In this case, there is hard evidence in police custody given to them by two married members of the military, along with a laptop found in a crevice that DWS desperately wants back. There is also an arrest. This is much more than the whirlwind speculation on the left re: Trump.

Now you can keep up with your 'witch hunt' and we will keep up with ours.

Hard evidence in police custody of WHAT? What is it evidence of? Yes, there is an arrest, of one person. Compare that with the forced resignation of the National Security Advisor after a few weeks on the job, and the firing of the FBI director.

But I am willing to trade. Let BOTH DWS and DJT resign from office, and I will call it a fair deal.

Lets see how it is played out and we all know Awan is being pressured to turn states witness. Clinton won't go down, but DWS could.

Wow, that is a huge leap. Do you know the meaning of the word "evidence"? You don't even know what is on the hard drives and you are already putting DWS in jail? The only "evidence" suggests that DWS is a victim of this guy.

It's nice that you have found a shiny object to distract from Trump's ineptness. But, don't act like you have more than you really do.

The only shiny object that I have seen since November is like media and their Jan Brady moment of "Russia, Russia, Russia!", brought about by Clinton after making them the scapegoat of a failed message that is lost on many inside the beltway.

The Daily Caller News Foundation's Investigative Group revealed that Imran Awan was the target of an FBI investigation.

Just a few hours after the revelation, Awan attempted to flee the U.S. Previously, Awan had wired $283,000 form the Congressional Ferderal Credit Union to 2 unidentified individuals in Pakistan. Also, the FBI seized numerous smashed hard drives from a home Awan had previously rented here.

In addition to bank fraud, he's being investigated for serious potentially illegal, violations on the House IT network, and possibly exposing restricted House information online.

wife fled with 2 kids in feb. they threatened stepmom for property in Pakistan. Pretty clear they are RUNNING AWAY!

Imran and Hina recently withdrew their children from their schools, according to members of the Holly Elementary and Lorton Station Middle school communities. Multiple people said Hina told them she was headed to Pakistan where the family has significant property.

Last month, their stepmother accused them of threatening her in order to force her to sign a power of attorney to gain access to assets in Pakistan.

In court papers filed in Fairfax County, Samina Gilani alleges her stepsons of wiretapping her phones, threatening to kidnap family members in Pakistan, and preventing her from seeing her dying husband in a Virginia hospital unless she granted them power of attorney. She also accused them of trying to remove her as the beneficiary of her husband’s $50,000 life-insurance policy. Her husband, Mohammad Ashref Shah, died in January, and the insurance payout is being disputed in court.

Why are these highly paid professionals running a car dealership?

I would like to have a job on the hill but everyone says it's extremely difficult. I have two Ivy League degrees btw. How did these people get those jobs?

more smoke, innuendo, strained readings of circumstantial evidence. Where is the hard evidence of collusion? Oops its not about collusion its something else, sorry.

But really the President should be above suspicion - oops, not the president, the former DNC chair. Just as important, if not more so.

Here is a statement from Awan's lawyer:

Statement on the Imran Awan Case

Washington, DC: The attacks on Mr. Awan and his family began as part of a frenzy of anti-Muslim bigotry in the literal heart of our democracy, the House of Representatives. For months we have had utterly unsupported, outlandish, and slanderous statements targeting Mr. Awan coming not just from the ultra-right-wing "pizzagate" media but from sitting members of congress. Now we have the Justice Department showing up with a complaint about disclosures on a modest real estate matter. To an extent, the situation speaks for itself.

Mr. Awan’s family is presently staying with extended family in Pakistan because he and his wife were both abruptly and unjustly fired, leaving them without a reliable source of income to pay typical U.S. living expenses, and because extremist right-wing bloggers were beginning to harass them and their children—even going to their children’s schools. Mr. Awan has stayed in the U.S. to earn some income to manage this situation as best as possible. He attempted to travel this week to see his family for the first time in months. The government had been informed he would travel and had stated no objection. Yet on Monday night he was hastily arrested at Dulles airport.

Because we are confident in the integrity of the U.S. justice system, we are confident that Mr. Awan will soon be able to clear his name and get on with his life. Neither Mr. Awan nor his wife have ever had any intention to “flee” the United States. They are U.S. citizens who have built a full life and have a strong community life in this country. They will stand and fight whatever charges are presented. Once they have prevailed, we will have a chance to more closely examine the ugly political and media dynamics that have driven this controversy from the beginning.
