I grew up with kids with the last name Condon. I once corrected my mom, saying "It's David CONDOM, Mom!" And we went round and round about it. Then I called the kid's mom Mrs. Condom. Mrs. Condon just said very curtly "CondoN, honey."
I don't know why I was so sure it was Condom (I was too young to know what that meant. |

Isn't that a suuuuper common last name though? If I heard "Fink" I would think of the last name, not the undesirable connotation...unlike say, the last name Butt or Dix or Hogg. |

You could be right that it was common or that you don't think it is embarrassing but it always embarrassed her so I guess embarrassment is in the eye of the name-holder so to speak. |
