University of Maryland CP - how hard is it really to get in now?

It is a competitive school. However, it varies widely bases on high school, gender and ethnic background. Asian female from W schools have it the hardest - due to the slave issue and illega immigration.

Okay, let your A- kid apply and see what happens. I know some extremely qualified applicants who were not accepted. Sure, they had all the right numbers but I think it was the desired engineering major that did them in. It is VERY difficult to get into the engineering program there. I don't know if it might be easier if they applied with another major in mind.
