Is she majoring in nursing by any chance? |
No. She is majoring in (trying at least)the easiest major possible under the sun (not Art History, not anything related to sports or physiology etc. and not fine arts). |
Drama or Disability studies, or linguistics then. |
I believe drama comes under "fine arts", I have never heard of "disability studies" and "linguistics" is not an easy major. |
I don't know why people say art history is an easy major. I'm a quant person who has an appreciation of fine art so I tried to take a couple of art history classes over and above the intro level and that shit kicked my ass. So much to memorize and the amount of writing was insane. Art History at an elite school is no joke of a major. I would say polisci and even regular history are easier than art history, which requires way more abstract thought coupled with all the skills you need to be a strong history or any other writing intensive major. |
Wrong. Fine Arts - is painting, sculpture, drawing etc. Look at the goddamn website you moron - both Disability Studies and Linguistics are majors. And both are clearly fluff. |

That means they spend a lot of $ on PR. Even you should know it has NOTHING to do with quality of education |
If this poster is still around could you weigh in on how people with a Ph.D in a STEM field view UMD (which is after all the topic of this thread!). Interested for my kid who wants to pursue a Ph.D in the life sciences TIA |
