PP here. The class was also created before the lottery so the initial admits took that class into consideration. |
Yes. And it is mostly only dramatic on DCUM. |
Immersion is hard work and a real commitment. If you're lukewarm and happy at your current school, stay put. |
Can you talk a bit more about this? We are a new family and are nervous about what we should be doing outside of school. Neither parent is a native speaker. |
Nothing. You will be fine! |
| Called! Anyone have last minute advice for our decision? Have to decide fast! Thanks |
Go for it! |
Thanks. Concerned with their possible move, since we live near SD campus and had prioritized proximity in our selections. This is harder than I thought! |
Are you currently in a Montessori and/or language school? Is that your priority? |
If not, stay put. |
We are just pk3 but enrolled at Montessori. Priorities are language and Montessori. But also location seems important doesn't it? |
|
You aren't going to get stable location at LAMB. Even if 14th St never happens your child will move at least once in their school career. Go in with your eyes open, knowing you will spend at least 2 years commuting to Ward 4.
Only you know how important - or unimportant - that is to you. |
Read the supporting immersion thread. If you want your kid to thrive in both language you will likely need to support that outside of school. At a minimum with a Spanish language camp in the summer, ideally with regular additional opportunities for conversations in Spanish. |
I didn't realize lamb was a Ward 4 school- please link me to where it says that in its charter paperwork!! |
My point is that they own 2 buildings in Ward 4 -- and all LAMB 4th and 5th graders attend one of them, regardless of where they were for PK3-3rd. The SD facility is leased. |
