What's really sad is that I didn't think she was crazy when she said that Obama was a Muslim - because there are so many deluded people who hold that view. It was only when she said that Obama was going to jail that I thought she was crazy. |
| I think the woman taking the video tells her friend "I wish you hadnt let that woman cut in line" and the lady overhead that and as a retort said "well I wish they hadn't let you in the country." |
It says "I don't doubt whatsoever that this kind of stuff happens every day". How does wondering if a (white) comedian might be making up a story to garner attention to his website equal denial about xenophobia? |
I actually saw it posted on FB by a friend who was sharing the post of the videographer's husband... He posted the video, tagged Trader's Joe's, and wrote the story of what had happened according to his wife. |
I saw that too, but that profile was relatively anonymous. I don't know. Maybe the blonde lady is a shut in and rarely leaves the house so no one knows who she is or maybe her family and friends are all staying quiet about who she is to protect her from the backlash. At any rate, Jeremy McLellan says he probably won't out her even if he does find out who she is because "passions are high and he doesn't want to be responsible for something happening to her". (Per his FB page). |

I explained how this was initiated in the original post of this thread, but I'll do it again (all of this is according to the Facebook post which, of course, could be inaccurate): 1) Muslim Woman A allowed White Woman A to cut in line in front of her; 2) White Woman A, not knowing that Muslim Woman A is Muslim, pointed to Muslim Woman B who was elsewhere in the store and wearing traditional Muslim attire and made a disparaging remark about Muslims; 3) Muslim Woman A then engaged White Woman A in a discussion in which White Woman A made additional anti-Muslim remarks; 4) Muslim Woman A then said, "I wish I hadn't let you into line" and White Woman A replied, "I wish they hadn't let you into the country". The rest is in the video. |
Is there an actual crime here? What is tarder Joe's supposed to do? I didn't get all offended when a black guy told my asian elementary aged kids that white people ain't shit , Fuck Trump. I just thought the guy was an idiot for assuming they were white. I guess we should film everyone. |
Why is this always the go-to excuse when it's a white person spewing/doing crazy, hatelful things? |
Lol. I'm a long-time Reston resident and I burst out laughing when I read "I have never liked Reston." Reston getting a bad rap on more than one forum.....

Many white (specifically white conservative Christian) people like to think there's something wrong with other backgrounds - they're genetically inferior. They're cultural degenerates. They're backwards. As such, they're thugs, they're terrorists, they're criminals and dangerous and their background makes them that way. Being white (and specifically, white conservative Christian) is a superior state of being, so when they do something not-so-good that means they are mentally ill - they can't help it. They are not inferior, but they are sad and tragically broken and need help. It's obviously BS. fwiw, I'm mixed - one side is very white, the other is very brown/Muslim. |
+1. I posted about this before but I lost a life long friend who went through a similar "transformation" driven by Facebook. |
This is just not true.... and you know it. If it were, this type of post would be commonplace. It isn’t. She was hateful, bigoted, ill-informed, and just an ugly person. Most of the people I know who voted for Trump would condemn this type of behavior. And, maybe if you actually talked to someone who voted for Trump, you could ask them what they think. Because, this isn’t it. |
It's a go to excuse for people to explain a lot of groups. E.g., that person did something because of his "crazy" religion. |
What are you smoking. |
