Anti-Muslim encounter at Reston Trader Joe's

This Facebook post describes and has a video of a woman who verbally harassed a Muslim woman at the Trader Joe's in Reston:
https://www.facebook.com/JeremyMcLellanComedy/videos/1510455688995601/ According to the Facebook post, the Muslim woman let another woman cut in front of her in the check out line. The woman began bad mouthing another Muslim woman in the store. The woman then began harassing the first Muslim woman (the one who had let her cut in line). At this point, the Muslim woman began recording the incident. The harasser says, "I wish they didn't let you in the country." The Muslim woman replies by clarifying that she had been born here. The harasser than says that Obama is no longer president and there is not a Muslim in the White House anymore. Pretty outrageous way to treat someone who has just done you a favor. Caveat emptor: while much of this interaction is on video, we don't see the entire incident and every story has two sides. If anyone wants to find a way to excuse what is recorded, be my guest. |

I think I recognize the woman in the video and, if I'm right, her kids didn't go to school in Reston. |

Wow. I would email it right to her and say "Just so you know, there is the horrific video going around of a woman saying truly terrible things and I don't want to freak you out but she looks just like you. I thought you should know in case anyone tries to harass you in the coming days because they mistake you for her. Thank goodness you're not a hateful bigot, right?" Then go pop some popcorn and wait for her response back. |

Why? This wasn't a store representative. Also, how will that help change the hearts and minds of people like the woman in video? Seems like that would only make it easier for this woman to live in her bubble. |
