He won't spend the night

Anonymous
I dont really like crashing at peoples place and Im a perfectly honest dude. Eventually I don't mind doing it but not at 5 weeks…maybe 6 months? I like to brush my teeth, put in my retainer, feed and walk my dog, etc etc. Its not ideal in my mind to crash somewhere and then rush home before work the next morning and scramble to get ready. I hate it actually.

I actually don't think OP needs to know the answer as to why. If it is something that bothers her (and it would bother me because I like the intimacy of sleeping together when I'm in a relationship, especially the beginnings of a great relationship), then that doesn't bode well for the relationship. Sure, she can ask him why. But the fact that he is avoiding it - not staying and not offering an explanation - means they likely aren't in sync.

Do you give them a reason why?

Five weeks is rushing sex? What time period is not "rushing sex"?

Go to his place. Sleep over yourself. Easy fix.

I didn't realize it at the time, but in my 20s I was developing a problem with alcohol. I didn't like spending the night with my girlfriend because I wanted a nightcap before bed and didn't want her to know how much I was drinking.

He could secretly be a smoker?

Maybe your bed is just really uncomfortable

I hated staying at my wife's place, her mattress just killed by back for days. I'd find any excuse I could not to stay over, that bed was absolute murder.

You all watch too much reality TV. Not being ready to stay over after 7 dates doesn't mean he is a psycho married player.

He isn't ready to sleep over for any one of 1000 valid reasons, just like a woman might not be ready to stay over at a guy's house by 7 dates.

Op, the relationship is new. Don't rush it. nothing wrong with not staying together at this point. respect that he isn't ready and don't pressure him into more than he wants right now.

If you need someone to commit to you and be ready to spend the week at your house by 7 dates, then this isn't your guy.

Does he have a dog? You need to walk those things regularly.

You've been out with him a grand total of seven times and you're upset he won't spend the night. I think you need to give it a little more time if you're otherwise happy with him. Take it slowly and see where it goes. If he still is the same way in a month, then walk.
