Why does the zip code matter? Are the standards different across zip codes?

Surprised because the scores were slightly better than my daughter's scores 2 years ago, and she go in. Wondering if I should take WISC and appeal...

I would.

I heard that zip code does matter. Money plays a factor in these decisions, even though it may not seem right. The cheaper it is for the county to have a child in the program, the easier it is for that child to get in.

I'm wondering about the zip code too. I didn't post my zip because I live in a different zip code than the school and didn't know which to post.

Why would it be cheaper in one zip code vs. another?

I would appeal also! The Cogat is so close to the cutoff and the 13 GBRS is really high. I'm surprised she didn't get in.

Based on other people who did not get in, I don't understand how a kid can get in with those scores. Teacher rec?
