Most spoiled and entitled city in the U.S.?

Only in SF did a homeless teen turn down a free sandwich from me because although he was on meth and living in GG park, he was still vegan. I suspect he went home to his Mom's house in San Anselmo on the weekends.

I lived in SF, totally believe this. Thanks for the laugh this morning.

My vote goes for Silicon Valley. While there are a lot of regular people there just trying to get by, the people with tech money and inflated egos can be disgustingly entitled.

there was an op ed written a while ago by this tech guy in SF who said he and his date (or was it his mom?) were "accosted" by a homeless person. He felt he shouldn't have to be bothered by such people since he was paying a premium to live in SF.

So, yea, I would say that he is the epitome of entitlement in that area. I'm from that area, btw. There are still a lot of "normal" people there just trying to get by. But more and more, this type of person is becoming the norm in that area - 20 something people whose first job is at a tech company that has all kinds of perks, and don't know what it's like for the majority of working people who work for "normal" companies without such perks. I work for these types of tech companies, but I'm old, and I worked for normal companies before the tech world exploded. I see the entitlement difference at work, too.

I had a teen boy from Manhattan staying with me for a couple of weeks for sport's camp. His family are immigrants but it goes to show how quickly they became detached from their background(which was poor and from a war torn country.) Kids wouldn't eat much so mom told me to make him steak, shrimp, salmon and if we feel like indulging, lobster. She then told me only New York strip steak and if all fails, he will eat sushi, but not store bought, only from a nice restaurant.

That is why I ski at Keystone, but then I am made fun of because I should go somewhere nicer, read more expensive.

#coloradoproblems

People who regularly subject themselves to Wisp would love that problem. *cries*

Lol, funny because 1. Donald Trump is from big, important, "educated" NYC and 2. Most Donald Trump's least successful states were "flyover" ones, while his most successful were those enlightened places like MA and NY and CT.

Speaking of uniformed and uneducated opinions. What a joke.[/quote
He's from NYC but his main power base comes from toothless types like yourself.

I would rather not ski than go to Wisp! Yes, I am spoiled.

3 worst are Eugene, OR; Madison, WI, and Athens, GA.

These 3 are like real-life Cloud Cockoo land. Completely out of touch with reality.

Too true. This is why you never catch a native Colorado resident at Aspen. To them Aspen isn't even in Colorado.

Fail.

McLean is not a city. It is a Census-designated place.

Obviously you are not intelligent enough to live someplace as awesome as McLean.

I would've said DC at first, but I agree with SF. I know kids growing up there, and their parents expect them to have it all for little work.

I lived in SF and DC. I say SF residents are a thousand times more spoiled and entitled. As someone else said, even the homeless people have high standards.

True. My mom grew up in San Mateo and it is awful there now.

Yep. Hillsborough was founded as a haven for the rich limousine liberals who wanted the benefits of SF without the "undesirables" right in their backyard.

I used to live right around there a few years ago. *Many* of those in Silicon Valley, SF, Peninsula aren't long time residents. Most are transplants. So, if the area is out of touch, then it's the out of towners that are bringing it to that area.

The PP who stated that the young people who have only worked at those high tech companies with lots of perks are definitely out of touch is correct. I've worked in those companies for over 10 yrs, but I'm in my late 40's, and I've worked at non high tech companies in other parts of the country, too. Those people are definitely clueless regarding how life really is for majority of the people in this country.

But, the older ones like myself aren't clueless about the col and the realities of life.

I find those who grew up and still live in the DC area are a bit out of touch, too.

Someone I know from NYC told me that many in NYC feel that the world revolves around NYC.

I don't which area wins overall.
