I never see this in real life! |
I think it's named after Tan France of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. (Is he still on that show? Is that show still running?) Either he invented it or he promoted it. |
I do it inadvertently. Long torso. Can’t seem to keep anything fully tucked all day, ever. Super annoying. |
agreed. it looks like you went to the bathroom and mistucked your shirt.
|
half tuck is not for me. i have seen it recently in ads for MEN! another hard no! |
The half tuck looks SO good on me. I have long legs and narrow hips, but a bit of a belly. The half tuck hides it and is super flattering. Really draws attention to the legs, IMHO. |
I really like it too, same body type. On me it's more flattering than either a loose shirt (no waist) or a full tuck (unforgiving, emphasizes belly) |
The newer one that looks really weird to me is tucking in one side of a button down shirt and leaving the other side out |
It looks sloppy. |
If it's subtle, 6 in. or less of a tail, it can look good. But having a long panel of fabric hanging down one leg looks sloppy or silly. |
i was going to mention that! but i wasn't sure how to say it. that would be a real "half tuck." |
Full tuck was so common and popular in the mom jean era from the nineties. I am shocked it hasn't been cool again since those awful jeans are back in. I guess fashion can only stand the revival of one hideous aspect of yesteryear's fashion.
|
I'm short, and large busted. No tucking in for me, because then people only stare at my boobs. But the half tuck gives me a little bit of shape/waist, hides my little bit of a belly, and makes me feel confident. Have been doing it since puberty over 40 years now |
I don't do it because I can't pull it off but I certainly knew it was a styling choice and not some model showing what a shirt might look like for tucked in or not tucked in wtf? This explains a lot about some of the posts and choices on this forum. |
Cropped tops have been in with the high waisted jeans, so nothing to tuck! I like a half tuck, myself. |
