* In any interaction with police - they have all the power. Recognize that.

* Be exceedingly polite. Respond to every request. Cooperate fully with an attitude that in no way challenges their authority.

* Your goal is to do everything you can to end your interaction as quickly as possible i.e. don't give them excuses to put you in deeper water.

And these helpful tips still do not mean they will get treated with respect if they are Black. By all means continue to live in your bubble and think it's just that simple.

and we are making it all about the "r" word

I'm not familiar with the "r" word. What exactly are you referring to? Perhaps you refuse to make it about the "wp" phrase?

The goal isn't respect. I don't need that from a cop. The goal is getting away from the cop with nothing more than a ticket. If I need to turn the other cheek to do it, I will.

To be shocked that GDS or Bullis or others have racists is a bit ridiculous. They are everywhere, just like domestic abuse, drug/alcohol abuse, etc. Just accept that and get about life instead of wallowing in why it happened. It's never going away.

That's why GDS was the Obamas' first school choice on the recommendation of AG and former GDS parent Eric Holder. Apparently they were very impressed with GDS's history, mission and unique place among the top rung of DC privates. Unfortunately, the family's Secret Service detail nixed GDS because of questionable concerns about the access and egress at the Palisades campus.

Looks like the Secret Service did them a favor.

People and their kids need to stop being such fragile wallflowers. Teasing and ribbing goes on in high schools, especially on teams and such. Maybe people have over-reacted

Who would blame the head of school for thinking about stepping down? He's had a tough year.

Russel is the absolute best heat of school I have seen in 17 years of private schools.

These problems are largely of his own making.

Funny how this urban myth perpetuates, and so many people actually believe it.

There is much heat at school this year.

It sounds like the entire school is in "over its head" in just about everything.

I am not a GDS parent but I thought you were not supposed to go after identifiable individuals on this board. He can't answer for himself here.
