The actress that plays Lucca is British. She had to play an American accent on TGW. |
Hmmm, Dick Wolf has a lawyer show on the schedule for this season called "Chicago Justice." |
I would prefer a happy/triumphant ending. But, I think there is something good about the way they did it. Alicia started off the series by fulfilling her obligation to her husband (i.e. standing by his side being "the good wife"). She played the role of the wife (much to my dismay through the whole 7 years) just to appease others/husband/kids.
She ended the series by still trying to fulfill her perceived obligation and ultimately lost herself and her future happiness. By putting her own desires/goals second to fulfilling what she thought she had to do for her husband (taking the selfless route in her mind), she betrayed her work relationship to Diane and her personal relationship to Jason. Like so many women, we think we are helping everyone by being the martyr and ultimately, we are left disappointed, empty, and alone. That is the message of the Good Wife. |
+1000 totally agree with that analysis. The creators wanted to end it on a more nuanced note that the fairy tale happy ending. |
The spinoff is happening. I'm glad because I love Diane, and Christine Baranski, but Lucca annoys me.
It's Official: CBS All Access Orders 'Good Wife' Spinoff Starring Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo Creators Robert and Michelle King are set to co-write the first episode but will not run the series. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/good-wife-spinoff-cbs-upfront-895242?utm_source=twitter |
Feel like Carey (or the actor who plays him) wasn't treated well. They could have done so much more with that character than what they did. |
OH god. That is the reason for the horrible ending. The writers can give it all the spin they want, but it ended like a show that writers wanted a spin off. |
