Good Wife - how will it end?

Also, why was her hair so weird on that last day?

Bad wigs. All season they have been horrible.

Also confused!

We don't know. We will never know. We are not meant to know. It is possible, but never confirmed one way or another.

Funny, to me it seemed a clear yes--his terribly guiltstricken face, her very emotional response, his wanting to sell his business to his student "cheap"...

I think they did. That's why he sold his business to her for such a low amount. And if he hadn't, he would have proclaimed loudly NO! Diane left because she knew it was true and didn't want to hear him say yes.

I didn't like the ending at first, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. The evolution of Alicia Florrick from being married to a political animal to being a political animal.

I liked this take on things, and basically agreed with the complaints in here: http://www.gofugyourself.com/fug-the-show-thoughts-on-the-good-wifes-series-finale-05-2016

It seems like JM went through so many different periods of her character being mad at and/or not filming with certain actors. Kalinda, of course: they didn't have a scene together for more than a year until their last one, and turns out they didn't even film that together. She and Cary didn't get along for a while. She and Will had a great affair and then were estranged from one another. Then this year and last she was so mad at Eli that they weren't talking, and again you just didn't see them filming together.

I have been attributing a lot of this to JM's personality, but I wonder whether it's possible that the filming schedule for a 22 episode series is just so punishing that it's just too hard to get the actors together? Like, maybe it's not that JM is really prickly, but insists she will only be on set 8 hours a day instead of 16 and because she's in basically every scene that means they need to come up with workarounds that allow her to shoot a lot of her scenes alone?

When she and Will were kissing, they looked like they disliked each other. Not romantic in the slightest. I love Will though...

Interesting to read the blogs and articles regarding JM. I have wondered why certain cast members disappeared from the show without a reason. It makes sense.

Hair in the finale:
Did you notice her hair on stage during Peter's press conference was suddenly straighter, longer and darker than immediately before and immediately afterward? It was to mimic her look in the first episode press conference on stage with Peter.
I'm just surprised the wig before and after in the finale were so obviously different.

And about Diane, Kurt and the blonde: I disagree with the PPs. I interpreted Diane's exit from the courtroom to be disgust that Alicia stooped to such a level, which will essentially discredit Kurt's career.
Did no one else see it that way?
The affair is irrelevant, I think it was about betraying Diane through taking down Kurt (and discrediting the witness was what Lucca was doing anyway).

I could see this if he hadn't sold his business so far below value. Dianne knew that it was too low and something was off. I think Jason uncovered the affair when Lucca called for help on the bullets.

But he changed his mind and didn't sell it. He told Diane he was going to look for another buyer who would value it higher.

Most series finale threads go on for pages. It speaks volumes that so few people are talking about this. The show went off the rails in the last year or two, and no one really cares what happens to Alicia. Frankly, I cared more about Diane and Carey at this point. They were both given stupid storylines this year and their endings were lame as well.

I loved this show so much when I discovered it a couple of years ago that I binge watched all five seasons (at that time) over Christmas break. It was Alicia's perseverance and cunning in cases and situations that seemed impossible to win that hooked me and it was something I needed emotionally at the time.

The last season was such a disappointment that I could hardly remember what was going on and kept scouring the episodes On Demand to see if I'd somehow missed one or two. That and never knowing if there would even be a show on most Sunday nights actually made me angry.

But I think the ending made perfect sense. She wanted to ensure that Peter wouldn't go to jail, though it sure looked like there was nothing she could do to prevent it. And you have to wonder why she wanted that, especially considering what it cost her, but that really was what the entire show was about. She was The Good Wife all along and it cost her.

Creators have not ruled out a spinoff with Diane & Cary. Will find link later.
