He was seen out riding a bicycle just a couple of days ago, after his plane's emergency landing.

Besides a heart attack, what could progress that insanely fast??

Doesn't untreated AIDS in fact sometimes progress insanely fast? And he had been untreated for a while.

I can't imagine that he would be healthy enough to be out riding his bike and days later he was dead. I am still in shock over this news because, whether he had AIDs or not, this seems very sudden to me.

Vanity just passed away in February too.

I am dying laughing, Prince was a serious basketball player IRL

I know it's hilarious right? LOL

I believe every word.

I DO NOT cry over celebrity deaths (OK, except for Michael Jackson) but this TRULY sucks and has me so sad and heartbroken. Prince's songs provided the soundtrack to so much of my childhood. He will be missed and his brilliant music will live on forever.

I guess I'm too young to know who he is other than his name and face but I did read the blind last week so this wasn't a shock. So sorry for everyone's loss.

Age has nothing to do with it. Musically stunted more than too young. His musical influence was far-reaching. RIP Prince.

That may be true but if I hadn't been a certain age, I would've missed Prince perform in Chicago with a bunch of friends. I will never forget it. Sigh, I long for those simpler times, youth, freedom, and....Prince!

+1. It's close to saying you don't know who Mozart is. Okay, maybe Bach, but still.

Here is a very cute tribute I just saw:

It's on Tidal I believe. He's been rather infamous in not allowing his music online, especially on Youtube. There was a time that if you uploaded a prince video you received letters from his lawyers telling you to take it down.

Thank you. I will try that. How are people supposed to know this, and access it, now that he is gone?

You have to sign up for a free trial if you want to even access anything on it, which I just did because I wanted to listen to some of his music. I was just telling my husband that I have to laugh, even as sad as I am, because Prince is making everyone sign up Tidal now. I only found out about it because I had lots of Prince on my itunes playlist and then one day it was gone! Checking around and sure enough, found a news item about how he wants it all on Tidal. I was wondering if that will still continue to be the case, or if his estate will put it out on other avenues now. I feel bad for even thinking about it right now, but honestly I do wonder.

Or you could, you know, buy a CD.

I was shocked, SHOCKED, when I learned the news. I literally gasped.

About an hour later, I had to run to the grocery store... listened to Prince (of course) because it's all that's on. At the Giant, they were playing Michael Jackson "Man in the Mirror."

These are the 2 celebrity/musician deaths that have really impacted me.

Great idea if he actually worked with a distributor to put them in retail locations. The only way to get the album was to buy a ticket to a show or get it thru Tidal.

I love this. "He didn’t have to be cool to rule our world, but he was, and he did."

These 2, and Robin Williams (Mork in those rainbow suspenders was a first crush too), were the ones that most got to me.
