Imagine having to deliver the Botox to the woman who will forever be known as the Botox mom - yes, she actually purchased it and said it was a good deal

Our school offered a botox treatment once. No one bid on it.

Botox does well at our school.

The vasectomy was a hot item at our auction a few years ago...

pics or it didn't happen!

I think PP is joking...

NP, I don't think it is a joke. There was one at our auction a few years ago.

I am not sue why people keep insisting it was a joke. I am not sure about the person who posted first about the vasectomy, but the item was at the auction this year at one of the JKLM school (where my kids go, saw it with my eyes).

What's a class basket?

I had no idea before this thread. From what I can gather: the PTA asks families to buy something and put it in a "class basket." Then the basket is auctioned off. So the items are essentially bought twice, but the school benefits once.

It's weird. I would be completely annoyed if we had this at our school, but a bake sale is essentially the same model and it doesn't annoy me.

Or you could just have parents donate directly. I'd prefer that.

We try to make our baskets out of donated things, or at least discounted stuff.

Can we please hear more crazy stories please? I liked Botox mom, and am sure she's not the only one.

I will also point out that my neighborhood listserv is filled with people selling things they bid on. One neighbor, who is drunk every day past 5, bid on a party venue for her kids, who were way too young. As in the venue was for 6 year olds and up and her kids were 3. She told me she didn't even remember what happened!

Well, if true, I would have newfound respect for north Arlington.

exactly. i wouldn't have batted an eye at anyone buying that. I don't know anyone who isn't botoxed up anymore. Hell, I'd buy that if it was a good deal. I don't care who knows I get botox.

Yeah, I don't think Botox is such a big deal anymore. A lot of people do it or have done it. I don't think anyone would be ashamed if people knew they did it. God bless the amazing qualities of botulism!
