Aide passing out in the bathroom with the door locked. The custodian had to force the door open.

The secretary getting high with a bunch of dads in the alley.

All true.

You really owe it to your rapt readers to share the school.

Has to be a private religious school

I'm guessing Holy Trinity.

DCPS EOTP ES

Can't be - there is a church balcony.

You know not whereof you speak. St. Mark's on the Hill has long played host to many school auctions. SWS has held it there for 20 years.

Our preschool (former teacher) held one every two years, We had a new head of school that was an interesting lady. She wore an obscenely short dress, and got drunk and fell down on the dance floor in front of parents. Within a year she was asked to leave over some other very scandalous things that went down. I am sure she made quite the impression on our group of parents.

Did she go on to be a principal at a DCPS school?

No, I think she manages a daycare center in Springfield now

Our school holds its auction in a church, but I don't know if anyone ever hooked up in the balcony. It wouldn't surprise me! Only crazy thing that every happened that I'm aware of is when a lot of parents got very drunk at someone's house after the main event and stories were told and truths revealed....

But you do not have to pay tuition. So it is cheap.

There is a yearly bid for kiss n ride spots up front at our school - last year, it went for $32,000.

Maybe you should take an economics class. Or learn what cheap means. Spending money on garbage is never "cheap".

By the way my kids' school doesn't do an auction, just direct donations. I spend a few thousand and considered it well spent because it didn't come with any garbage and was for a good cause.

And if everyone felt the way you do, then no school would need an auction. But the reality is that lots of people won't just write a check for a few thousand dollars. They want to get something concrete for their money, and they don't consider restaurant gift certificates, event tickets, and vacation homes to be "garbage."
