Coldplay killed it

They were terrible!

Their days are done, the vocals were horrific and the performance was barely mediocre. Why were they even chosen for a halftime show??

They are a listen-to-on-a-CD-when-high only type of band. Not an awesome, live performance, great vocals and talent kind of band.

I believe it was also NYTimes that famously referred to Coldplay as the most insufferable band of the decade. I can't think of a more apt description.

+1000.

Bruno Mars and Beyonce saved it.

+10000

Why was Coldplay even there?

Because everyone has different musical taste. I loved Coldplay. Music with substance. Beyonce just looked like a stripper.

There have been better half time shows.

Agree, Beyoncé was predicable.

It's very predictable that Beyonce never wear pants.

I'm a big Beyoncé fan. But that song sucked and she really needs to change it up. Get a different stylist, change the hair, stop with the same vampy looks directly to the camera. Same, same, same. At least give me same, same, same with a good song.

Bruno Mars has tons of charisma.

Coldplay is such an odd choice. I don't think they killed it. You could barely hear CM and he looked like an overgrown 2nd grader prancing around to Just Dance. It was just so...awkward. They have nice songs on the radio. But not a band I'd pay $1 to see live. Don't get it.

Why no Taylor Swift off her huge 1989 tour? I don't think TS has ever performed. Or try to get Adele. I don't know something more relevant and not just the same old, same old.

The show being during daylight doesn't help at all. It felt very Opening Game Olympics.

FYI Taylor Swift has a contract with Coke. And Pepsi runs the super bowl half time show. So there will never be a Taylor Swift half time show.

Was Maroon 5 busy?

At least Chris Martin sang - Bruno Mars was obviously lip sinking.

singing, not sinking.

I thought Coldplay was really boring. They were smart to add Beyonce and Bruno, who livened it up a lot.

The game wasn't that exciting either.

I wish they'd get Muse to play next year. Muse is great live, and they put on a very theatrical show that could translate well to a big arena and TV.

I love the bands, but I wish there were cheerleaders or dancers instead of kids running around with flowers. Just why? Is it to be more family friendly? Yuck

Why not Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett w/ a side of Betty White?

"Syncing."

But no ones' audio and visuals were matching up. I first noticed it with Coldplay's drums and bass:what the musicians were playing wasn't what we were hearing. It was really distracting. Either it was a glitch in the broadcast or some of the shoddiest lip syncing I've ever seen.
