I knew a doctor who ate organic, exercised regularly, etc., and died from liver cancer in her 40s. It's still a mystery why she got it. The husband of a friend also lived a similarly healthy lifestyle. He just passed away from lung cancer. Never smoked a day in his life and didn't hang out in places where people smoked. Are you going to stop breathing because our air is loaded with particulates?

Cancer seems to be a lot like driving. You should drive carefully to avoid a wreck (i.e., eat healthy, exercise, don't smoke) but you really can't do much about a teenage driver jumping lanes or a drunk driver slamming into you (bad genetics, environmental, second-hand smoke, etc.).

I agree with the Brooks Brothers shirts. If you buy them on sale (they have a bunch of sales throughout the year) they are not that expensive and they last longer and wear better than many other brands. I'm a bit of a cheapskate and I buy my shirts at Brooks Brothers because I know they will last.

I pay $30 for Comcast internet in DC. Why are you paying $70?

and our triple bundle is $110.

Triple bundles are huge wastes of money. Get rid of the triple bundle.

Not the PP, but I think they mean that they have to iron things other than shirts. Not sure if they also mean that some of their shirts are not no-wrinkle as well. I don't really understand why they needed to be so snarky, though.

In a perfect world, I would only buy no-wrinkle shirts and probably only ones fro Brooks Brothers. But unfortunately, many shirts and brands that are on sale from time to time are not no-wrinkle, so I find myself sometimes buying non wrinkle free shirts. In summary, I still have to iron shirts (and occasionally pants) from time to time.

Sorry I wasn't more clear.

Organic doesn't equal more nutritious. And I know more health nuts with cancer than you'd believe. But go in, splurge for that organic, then do the big brave 3 day walk once you lose your breasts to cancer anyway.

Vitamix
Miele canister - I do my own cleaning and this almost makes it fun (not to mention picks up way better than our old bagless)
Harmony remote - no way I could work the TV stuff and visiting parents would have no chance without this
Remote start package on car - great for freezing mornings!
Good tools - DH can fix most things with good tools and they pay for themselves with one job usually
Good cookware and knives
Generator - the peace of mind alone is worth it
Jewelry - my weakness, but it makes me happy!
Second refrigerator in garage - changed my holiday/entertaining life completely. No more "where the hell am I going to put this?".
Monitored alarm system - same as the generator, worth it for peace of mind and to make sure nobody left the garage open, etc.

Oh so that's how you cure cancer.

Prevention is much easier than curing.

You really believe that you are preventing cancer by avoiding GMOs? So when a friend comes down with cancer, are you secretly thinking, "Well, she really should have eaten organic food"?

I do buy organic produce and humanely raised meat most of of the time, almost completely because I hate what pesticides are doing to pollinators and I think factory farm practices are disgusting. But if you really think you are preventing cancer by buying organic/non-GMO food, well, you've been hoodwinked.

I bought an electric italian style moka espresso pot for $50, and Lavazza Crema e Gusto coffee. I realized yesterday I spend half the money I used to on coffee. So I'm saving about $20/month and my coffee is so much better than drip folgers.

Moka espresso pot. http://amzn.to/1PBIWXx

Lavazza 4-pack for $18. http://amzn.to/1VsDmuT
