And this is why I don't friend my students or their parents. Ever.

She quit an interesting job and stopped having sex with her husband so she could focus 3,000% of her energy on her kids. At this stage of their lives she needs to dig pretty deep to find enough material to fill her day.

Thoroughly understand this. I'm a nanny who sometimes has older kids as charges, and I don't accept any friend requests from parents or kids until I am no longer working for them. If you want to be a professional adult, you have to be willing to keep professional boundaries in place.

I opened this thread hoping for a similar story. I am disappointed.

This would have been much better than "I'm not mad at her for being pregnant. I'm made at her for the inconvenience her pregnancy is causing me."

My main takeaway from this story is that teachers should not be on social media with parents and students, and there should be way less social media in general.

I have my Facebook set so posts have to be approved by me if they're on my page. Settings like that can prevent this type of information from spreading. Others would do well to use it.

Isn't this against the rules at schools?

Maybe at some schools but none I've ever heard of.
