When I was 20 I dated a rich 44 year old man. He was very sexy (still some of the best sex of my life), and he was retired so we went on tons of fun vacations and partied all the time. It was a blast.
But when he wanted me to move in with him, I had to bail. I thought of him post 50, and I knew I wouldn't be able to handle it. I also wanted to strive with my husband, and build a life from scratch. The 44 year old guy had lived a whole life already (divorced with kids in college). Now I am happily married to someone very close to my own age (early 30's), and I'm happy I made that choice. Even now I worry that my husband (who is only 2 years older than me) will die before me and how sucky that will be. |
NP here. I recently attended my 25 year HS reunion. Overall, the men were a mess. Some were so fat and bald that I barely recognized them and they were good looking guys back in the day. The women for the most part held up well. Many even looked much as they did in high school. I was really struck by it given that it runs counter to the general narrative that women lose their looks earlier than men. |
| If a twentysomething is smart, she will marry a rich older man. Why deal with a silly 20something guy who may or may not be able to provide for her when her security is assured by an older man? Also, if she is significantly younger than her husband, he is less likely to leave her for a younger model. |
i'm pp and I have the same feelings about Demi, for the record.

I agree!!! I just went to my 20yr and there were only a handful of men who were not fat and bald. So many great looking fit women. I went home and drained my DH'S balls. He's in shape and has a HOT upperbody. He's one of the very few. |
Written by a guy. Also, his imaginary husband apparently skips leg day a lot. |
| I'm 42 and am dating. I'm fit, have all my hair, and have reasonable fashion sense and interpersonal skills. So far, women in their mid-twenties don't seem to have issues dating older guys although they don't seem to want anything serious either. Ultimately, I'd like to be in a relationship and I suspect I'm more likely to find that with someone nearer my age. I will say this, sex with the younger generation of women is very different. They grew up in the age of internet pron and their standards for what's normal in the bedroom reflect that. |
I was 25 when I married my 37 yo DH. Now we are 37 and 49, so maybe you're talking about us. But, sadly, I don't think anyone thinks DH looks 12 years older than me. |
| Any woman that is in her 20s and has to marry older is a second-stringer. First-stringers marry hot, rich guys the same age as them. Second string either marries younger and poor, or older and rich. Third string marries old and not rich. |
Erm...what if the guy is 2-4 years older? What if the guy -1-2 years younger? |
Nope, but I take this accusation as a compliment. And I love having his strong built shoulders leaning over my body. I appreciate his genetic fortune combined with hard work even more after the reunion. |
Hot, rich 24yr old guys exist? Are they rich from mom and dad? I only know one 23yr old engaged to a 45yr old. She's a former model and is beautiful. She's certainly a god digger, but definitly not a second stringer. She is after money and he's an owner of a very large national business. He had his pick. |
So you think sounding like a gay dude at a glory hole is a positive trait in a wife? |
I'm sure there are a few. Very few. There are many, many more hot 24 yr old women out there and they can't all be "first stringers." Hotness alone won't be enough to differentiate them from the pack. Which is too bad for her, because when a guy can take his pick of that many beautiful women I'm gonna guess that an entitled bitchy attitude will cull her out early. |
Sometimes women avoid hot, rich guys their age because they are afraid of the power imbalance. There are WAY more "first stringer" women than hot, rich, 30 year old men. |
