Well, again that's nice, but "what you decided" has no basis in fact or reality. |
Nope, I'm a Christian. I think your version of it is stupid and arbitrary. |
Sure it does, just as much as yours does. I've read the Bible. I'm good at interpreting words. Lots of Christians disagree with you on this. |
|
Somehow, I doubt that. |
So God is offended by those who never came to know him? Of no fault of their own? A little Muslim kid growing up in Iran does at age 10 without accepting Jesus and he's offensive and going to Hell? Your God is petty. |
It's not anyone's "version" these are standard Christian beliefs that anyone knows. even denominations that disagree on some things, agree about this. DOn't believe them if you don't want to. God didn't make us robots. We all have free will and you've used yours to think that basic christianity is petty. |
No, you completely misread. God is offended by those who claim to follow Him but are "lukewarm" as in neither hot nor cold. |
So what -- Christianity is not a popularity contest. |
You're very wrong that all Christian denominations believe this. I was raised in Christian churches that don't believe this. You're very small minded. |
So you should stop pretending this is what all Christians believe. |
No you misread. That quote says God is "more" offended by the lukewarm, which means he's offended by the unbeliever as well. Obviously. |
Then you're very wrong. Not only have read it, multiple times, but taken classes on theology and went to catholic school. |

If you are going to hell, then everyone is. Democrats because they support abortion. Republicans because they oppose the birth control that could prevent abortions. Libertarians because they don't believe in the social welfare that would let poor women afford to raise their babies. I guess the only ones who might avoid it are Republicans who support birth control but not abortion - but even then, they'd have to support a full range of social welfare programs and the end of moral opprobrium towards unwed mothers. But then I guess they would just be pro-life Democrats?
Confused ... |
What you think are "the facts" is nice but incorrect. There are many many disparate opinions about this issue and it's complex. The Supreme Court held that a fetus was not legally a human being until at least the end of the first trimester. You know nothing about me or my situation. I am thankful that I had a choice. My choice included the realization that I was not equipped to raise a child. We have too many unwanted children in the foster system. It's selfish for people to have children they can't take care of and expect someone else to raise them. I've met a lot of really messed up adopted kids. Who cares if many people wanted that child to have a life. Are they willing and able to raise it? As far as God is concerned, I'm an agnostic, but for the most part I don't believe in God. I think we should agree to disagree because pro-choice/anti-choice views are very difficult to change. |
