On the first part...you are in the majority...on the last part...definitely the minority. |
Sorry but Michael Shellenberger is not an oil and gas man. His source is Terry Engender, and if you read Terry Engender you will see that he credits Carter, not Ford, and he places the innovations in 1978+. The fact is that in 1976 the DOE spent less than ten million dollars on the project you cited. It was the billions of funding through Section 29, the private-public partnership that moved the research out of DOE, and the elimination of price caps for unconventional natural gas that spurred innovation. |
Way to be proud of your ignorance. This thread is disgraceful. |
Look...all I said was it began with Ford, ERDA, and I further stated as to Carter, "He furthered something that had already begun and in part in response to a crisis that he had a part in exacerbated." As to the Energy Omnibus Bill http://library.cqpress.com/cqalmanac/document.php?id=cqal75-1213502#H2_4 The partial lifting of price controls under ERDA was a start in getting companies to explore unconventional methods to extract etc. |
This statement only makes sense if were still in office. What you are saying makes you sound evil. |
Worst President we ever had. Luckily Obama will take that honor from him soon!
He was a good Ex-President though. |
He is 90!!!! |
PP said he/she didn't know that Carter was still alive. That is the ignorance to which I referred, genius. |
I am Canadian. Do you know the status of our former Prime Ministers? |
Where is Canada? |
It's Canada. Who cares? |
