Cancer is a hateful disease. |
Loser and incompetent fool.
Worst President of the 20th century. Second worst President of my lifetime - only Bambi is worse. |
He risked the lives of the hostages in Iran - and got 8 Americans killed, and made America look stupid - for no other reason than he was flagging in the polls. The hostages weren't in any danger - in fact, the rescue attempt put them in danger and many of them were expected to die in the rescue. That's the "honor" of Saint Jimmah. Disgusting. |
He is the reason that Israel does not have to fear the Egyptian army. |
I loved the statements about the reason why he's being treated despite stage 4 cancer is because he's actually younger is mind and spirit.
Ah, life of the privileged. I do doubt your average folk would get the same benefit under Obamacare..... |
He had a mass removed from his liver but that doesn't mean it's liver cancer. His father, brother, and two sisters all died of pancreatic cancer (which does sometimes run in families) so people are assuming that's what he has. |
I'm heartened to see decency and compassion alive and well here. |
I was sad to hear this news. No matter what you thought of him as a president, he's a lovely man and has given years of service to this country. I wish him the best. |
I would imagine that chemo in a 90 year old would be very risky and difficult. |
That and the Egyptian army. Classy statesman, brilliant man, and world citizen. |
You sound like a winner yourself. You may not think he was a good president, but I am pretty sure he has done more good in his life than you ever will. Not to mention, he isn't as bitter and negative as you. |
Of course, but since there wasn't a stupid bloody war the news covered endlessly, he doesn't get any credit for that. |
Eh, I can kind of see his point. When you're 90, your cells divide so slowly that cancer doesn't progress as quickly as it does in younger people, which is also why childhood cancer is so deadly. If you and your toddler both get a scraped knee at the same time, your child's knee will be healed in a few days while you still have a scab a week later. Since he's otherwise in good health, I can see where chemo would buy him a worthwhile amount of time. About 10 years ago, one of the agents in his SS detail told me that Carter handled the rigors of his many international trips more easily than the agents half his age. I think, too, at that age, that mind and spirit play a significant role in health and longevity. I knew a wonderful elderly couple elderly couple who met and married late in life, after they'd both lost their first spouses. They were so in love and romantic-- in their 80's!-- and laughed ALL the time. Between the two of them, they'd had breast cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer resulting in a colostomy, heart disease, and a cervical spine fracture requiring halo traction. Carter has a loving marriage and lives life with purpose. I wouldn't discount the importance of that. |
And yet? He's getting it. Just like Kennedy did for terminal cancer. Not against it - should be a personal choice. The masses won't have that choice to make though. |
Have no issues with him getting the chemo. I have issues with the 'little people' on Obamacare being denied the same treatment. |
