Agree PP. My sons C in 7th grade Spanish is definitely included. I don't think it will kill his chances for success in life though.

The issue is that an advanced student getting a B grade in 6th or 7th grade in Algebra, or Spanish 1 or French 1 then later takes the harder and more advanced classes in high school like Calculus or Spanish 4 or French 4 and if they get an A in those much harder classes they are being penalized when those middle school B grades are counted in their high school average with the harder classes.

MCPS has a stupid system. They shouldn't accelerate every kid and they shouldn't count those grades in their high school average.
