Unisex bathrooms at FCPS schools, can someone explain what is going on and back it up with a source?

So that boys might be peeing in the urinal when a girl (actual real girl with girl parts) walks in? Is this ok with people? It's not ok with me. Are they going to implement this? How can I protest this change?

You're an idiot.

It's on the agenda for tomorrow's board meeting:

I'm so annoyed that they're considering allocating resources to this when we have a $100m shortfall? Seriously? !?

Current FCPS non discrimination policies already protect transgendered youth from harassment. I think that's adequate, do we need policies allowing them to use a restroom based on how they happen to identify that day? This is ridiculous. Like in the PP's post of the Reston teen. If he feels female then he gets to go to the girls bathroom. If he feels male the next day then he gets to go to the boys bathroom. I'm not comfortable with FCPS giving people "protection" to go between bathrooms so freely.

I would prefer that they not do this. However, if they do, it needs to be well thought out and have some type of policy to support it. I can see lots of negative unintended consequences with this.

They should not be voting on this tomorrow night. McElveen is immature.

Is it typical for the school board to only allow ten pre registered people to address their concerns at the meetings?

The only other school board meeting I attended was one specifically for changes to AAP. Many people spoke and none of us had to pre register to do so.

Yes, generally there are designated spokespeople from "each" side. They get to talk for 3 minutes. People who support what the person is saying stand in the auditorium to show their support.

You are free to send as many emails as you like to every member of the board.
