| ^ If the school thinks there's bullshit going on they can ask for more. Also, they better make sure the docs are legit. Once you sign that OSSE affidavit you're attesting under penalty of perjury that you're telling the truth. |
It's not always easy. I'm a native Washingtonian and a homeowner, but I don't drive and don't own a vehicle. My XH had to register the kids. It's a lot to put someone through because of OP's sense of righteousness. Google has me at an address in New Orleans, during a portion of grad school. It's like citing Wikipedia as far as I'm concerned, cuz of course the Internet is never wrong. |
You don't work? You don't own, rent your home? You don't have bills in your name? |
Um, the school directory. There is an online directory. |
We don't, you report, someone else investigates. If it's legit, it's legit. |
| While this issue is illegal and annoying you need to think about how this affects the child who will be removed. Entitled parents are so self involved and don't stop to think about how this will affect the child who is not guilty of parents making that desiciin. Imagine going to school making friends and then having to be removed from your community and placed someone else. Not to mention the weeks of school missed due to the transfer. |
So you're going to blame the system for kicking the kid out, not the parents who put him or her there against the law. And you call the reporting parent entitled?Nice. |
If you own a home, that is proof enough. What's the real deal ? |
Thanks so much for saying this. I feel pretty uneasy about it, but I think it's the best thing for our child. And I tell myself that he wouldn't be taking someone else's spot at this point in the year. |
Right or supply one pay stub. |
| You lied and took a chance you wouldn't be caught. Should a tax cheat not be sent to prison because it might adversely affect their children? There's no reason a kid would have to miss weeks of school. Your straw man has no legs. |
And it's almost freaking April- OP really wants them to kick a kid out now? I hope OP does call the office every week- they'll get a reputation for being a bit off. |
My school does only provide patent names and email addresses. What school provides home addresses? |
in your situation I think you should keep the slot and finish out the year. We're not talking about people in your situation. |
You don't know. It's OSSE's job to find out. So she reports it and lets them do their job. Calling every week is over the top though. They won't divulge personal information if the child is legitimately at the school, so once you report it, you have to assume if the child stays they are entitled to be there for one reason or another. Many wards of DC are fostered in MD but have rights to attend DC schools; but OSSE won't tell the tipster that the child is a Ward of the District (or whatever the reason for the placement). Doesn't make it wrong to call the tip line. |
