OP back Apologies for the delay but I was busy last night taking care of three kids AND A FISH!!!

We drove by neighbor's house on our way home but no lights on. But a car in the driveway. I can just imagine neighbor hiding the in dark haha! DH went by at 7pm and still, no one home. I will not leave Goldie on the porch to suffer an unknown fate. S/he is family now. But I will try again tonight.

The fish saga continues....I can not believe I got myself into this ridiculous situation.

And yes, let's leave my sex life out of this hahahaha!

Cannot wait to see how the Goldie Saga plays out!

X1,000 Thank you, OP. I so needed this.

I need a life.

But more importantly, did your DH go to drop off the fish?

Me too! I was laughing so hard yesterday I logged on this AM to read more.

Maybe the neighbor entered the witness protection program? You may never see them again.

Well, then, at this point, I would plan to keep the fish. If the neighbor asks, you can look bewildered and act as though the fish was never his to beginwith. There is apparently no paper trail to show that you were fish-sitting (does he even know your name?!?).

Congratulations on the new addition to the family.

I would have shot an email/text/call to this inconsiderate guy and told him you were out of food, know he's back in town and to please pick up the fish tonight. My nephew left his frogs with me too long without enough food and I did that with great results. I also do not accept any such future requests from people who take advantage.

For whom? Not for the frogs, I assume.

He picked up his frogs that day. I would not have let them go hungry but feeding them live crickets was giving me the heebie jeebies.

Anonymous wrote:OP here. This is totally a Seinfeld episode. What is going to happen next is that the neighbor comes to pick up the fish on Thursday. But the fish will die on Thursday, right before he picks him up. Of course, I will say, he was still alive on Sunday when you were supposed to pick it up! But neighbor will think it's been dead the entire time!!

My DH gets home around 7PM - I may ask him to go to neighbor's house.

So, is it *REALLY* a fish, or is it like a tadpole with a fish's name (is it named Donna?)

No - the fish's name rhymes with a female body part...

Mulva?

DELORES!!!!

Is this the fish's name or can we keep guessing?

Keep watching the news. This happens on American Greed all the time. One moment they are friendly, upstanding neighbor...the next they are on a plane to Costa Rica with the FBI in hot pursuit. You can be the neighbor in disbelief left holding...the fishbowl.

While some types of fish can live under the ice in a frozen pond (not frozen IN the ice)

Now I have "King of Pain" in my head.

I think OP isn't trying too hard to return the fish. Perhaps its because her kids have gotten attached or perhaps she has nefarious plans. Sushi?
