I hate my belly button after baby 2, so I don't where them anymore - but I would love to otherwise!

I have a tiny waist--flat, muscular stomach and a Bikini is much more flattering on me.

When I had to heavy little kid duty at the beach I wore the sturdier variety. Now that kids are older I can do string ties again.

Your poor embarrassed children.

LOL I was embarrassed as a teen when my mom wore a bikini and we ran into classmates at the beach. The boys thought she was MILF and hot! Today, I'm happy that I come from good stock!

Go for it! I would if I could pull it off.

I wear a bikini at 37 because my stomach is my best feature and always has been. My arms, legs, butt, chest etc. are going to show whether I wear a tankini, bikini or one piece. Why not show off my best asset?

My boys would be more embarrassed if I were fat.

I'm 45 and still wear a two piece because I find them more comfortable. And I really don't care what ya'll think.

They would call my mom their girlfriend to annoy me.lol It was moreso that. That said, I look bad and can admit she looked great. So I'm proud.

But I've noticed that I am the only Mom in the kiddie pools and water parks who seems to have this preference, and I've started to feel self conscious about it. Do other moms think I look out of place? Is there some kind of Mom dress code that I am missing?

I notice the opposite. However maybe it is because I often use the outdoor pool at the gym and many of the women in their 30's have hot bodies.

And what happens there is that you walk around then with negativity or maybe even malice in your head and heart for a few hours and the other person goes on free to be happy and enjoy life. See how that works? And there is no way, none, that harsh judgement for these types of reasons can ever be argued as anything other than negative emotion. It's in no way positive or bringing something good to the table or world. Why would you want to carry that around? It only hurts you, it literally can't help you at all or help you be a happier person or better parent or anything.

Winner.

Jesus lady if you look good in a bikini or don't care party on! My abdominal region looks like a sharpei (or however you spell that) puppy due to huge kids and a tiny frame. The frame is still tiny but I'm working on mustering up the confidence for the sake of my daughters.

I doubt I'll ever wear a bikini again, regardless of how much I weigh. I'm 40 and I've had four kids. Sure I may have D cups but they're not the D cups of my youth. I also had a rare, non-sun-related skin cancer removed that makes me look like I was in a horrific knife fight.

More than any of this, though, I just hate that women at pools are expected to show off as much flesh as humanly possible. Why are my two boys able to wear shorts while my two girls are supposed to graduate to the teeny bikini as soon as possible? I would like my girls to grow up thinking that the pool is about swimming, not about showing off their best assets. To what end? Does showing off your best assets make you a stronger swimmer? Are you having more fun if your best assets are on display? Is your swimsuit physically more comfortable if we can see your best assets? It just makes me sad for them. Same goes for some girls sports uniforms. What talent are they supposed to be demonstrating by making the shorts so short? If boys can manage to run, jump and swim in shorts with an actual inseam, why are girls apparently so hampered in their athletic performance by shorts that cover their cheeks?

Okay - rant over. I just don't want to perpetuate the idea that women's bodies are primarily display objects and swimwear should be selected accordingly.

Wearing bikinis doesn't makes women's bodies display objects, our culture does.
