I need to warn a friend about all the bad things that happen when you cheat

What exactly was taken so far? I divorced him and her husband found out what a whore she is. I call that karma. If you want to call it vengeful- so be it.

If you are going to risk everything to get off with somebody other than your spouse- than you better be prepared for the reality yo can lose it all.

Well OP, it could turn out like my situation. DH had a ridiculous midlife crisis and had an affair with someone truly unsuitable. She got wildly possessive and hounded me for over a year (by phone, email and FB) even though he dumped her.

She had to be warned by the cops in the end.

Moral of the story: Don't stick your d*** in crazy. Unfortunately you don't always realise they are crazy in the beginning...

Um, no you will not lose it all rather perhaps split assets which is perfectly reasonable and probably worth it.

Correct. She screwed my husband. The court apparently found her unfit as a mother. I have no idea the circumstances- but can't say I feel any sympathy for her since she has made my life a living hell.

For many of these OW that have never worked a day in their life---that's tantamount to losing it all. They will most likely have to get a job and/or seriously have their standard of living lowered.

I understand if in your worldview cheating is this great, explosive, life-ruining thing, but it doesn't have to be the case, and it certainly isn't everywhere else.
