How do you feel about muffins with mom, donuts with dad type events in a school setting for kids?

My husband died and DD had a hard time with donuts for dads this year. I took her out to breakfast before school that day but after dropping her off I cried all the way to work. So I would really appreciate just a pastries for parents. Or doing something else entirely.

The before/after care at out school is hosting a "pancakes with parents" which I think, is a great idea. Of course, it also states that gaurdians are considered "parents" as well.

Cheese and appetizers with caring adults.

That is my thinking also.

Unfortunately dealing with school stuff tends to default to the mom Which is why I think some PTA started having dad only events.

I chair the scholastic book fair and the have an optional event where a child can invite any kind of special person on their lif to attend. I think its a nice touch.

But you can't have alcohol on school premises.

I'm really confused why a school would need to do this.

Its not the school that does its the PTA. They get permission from the school to hold these events. As for the PP who lost her husband, I am so sorry for your loss and I agree wholeheartedly that the name should be changed. I will suggest to my PTA.
