Virginia Envy

And Lynda Carter^^^

DC is predominantly wealthy now. Suburban VA with all the applebys and Fridays is tacky.

In virginia possession of marijuana of 1/2 oz is a felony.

(2) More than one-half ounce but not more than five pounds of marijuana is guilty of a Class 5 felony

Maryland doesn't have this madness and will soon decriminalize.

An Albemarle County, Virginia jury has acquitted a man on marijuana possession charges. Philip Cobbs, 54, was arrested in October 2011 after police claimed they spotted marijuana on his property using a helicopter and conducted a SWAT team-like raid on his land.

Entire thread is based on a false premise. If you look at the list of the top 25 public universities, there are plenty east of CA and west of VA. OP is either a liar or can't read a map.

At least UVA isn't killing animals needlessly in the name of "research." How about some ethics UMD? Oh ya. It's Maryland.

Maryland has a smaller population but over twice as many heroin deaths as Virginia. Must not be so great that people look to find so many ways to escape it.

So many people want to leave Maryland that the Republican gubernatorial candidate, Larry Hogan, is using that as a campaign issue!

In fact, Hogan says half the population wants out!

Residents of lower MoCo and NW DC live in fear of traveling east of Rock Creek or north of Rockville. Most shop at Tysons and fly from airports on this side of the river to avoid Baltimore or Union Station. They drool at the prospect of getting their kids into UVA and wouldn't dream of sending their kids to UMD.

Virginia has more than 200,000 millionaires. Maryland and DC COMBINED don't come close to that.

After reading these posts, no wonder my DC wants to high tail it out of the DVM area and never come back. We will be right behind DC.

To return to the original post, most students in Maryland would give their left nut or right breast to go to school in Virginia, and very few Virginia kids have any interest at all in attending school in Maryland. Even Delaware probably is more appealing.

Who says ALL of Virginia is better than ALL of MD?

Comparing the areas of the DMV, Virginia wins by a landslide. I'll be the first to say Blacksburg isn't better than Bethesda, but the best of MoCo have moved out - many to Great Falls and McLean. Don't make the mistake of confusing Nova with the entire state.
