| The Notebook - I like the movie, but everyone I know cries their eyes out when they watch it. It wasn't that deep. |
What. No one cares about this movie. |

Just because you're fleeing the Nazis, you don't need to leave behind your evening clothes and an amazing collection of hats! |

I don't know if they were well "rated", but people certainly seemed to love the following movies that I walked out on, they were so bad:
Napoleon Dynamite Little Miss Sunshine Best in Show I hate that conceit of showing painful losers who think highly of themselves, so that we can laugh at their loser-ness, AND their mistaken self-confidence. (Add The Office, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Parks & Rec...) |
That is my favorite genre |

Gladiator

I hated No Country for Old Men.
I also hated the book All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy. I guess I just don't understand Cormac McCarthy. My husband and BIL love his writing. I don't usually stereotype like this but I think NCFOM is a guy movie. |
| Million Dollar Baby |
| Slumdog Millionaire. It won awards, so we watched it. It was honestly the most disturbing movie. There were just too many upsetting things in it. Hated it. |
I loved Lost in Translation too! Awesome movie. |
Ugh...You should maybe stick to not stereotyping -signed a female (former) film student who thinks your simple (not because you didn't like the movie) |
|
Fie on you OP for including Dr. Zhivago on your list.
I still want to die and come back as Lara -- if only to have that very cool "Lara's Theme" named after me. And also to snog with Omar Sharif... |

Agree with so many on this thread:
Dr. Zhivago (I thought it would never end) Casablanca (And to the PP who said it's on the top of movie lovers' lists....we'll have to agree to disagree) Lost in Translation Napoleon Dynamite Black Swan -- Natalie Portman's performance (the movie was ok as was Mila Kunis) Could not disagree more with Princess Bride! Love, love. And no more spoilers (PPs posting about Shawshank I'm looking at you!) |
about what? That it's on the top of most movies lovers' list? |
